OOTP 6 Will Not Load!!

I've had this problem for the last 2 days now. I'll go to open ootp6 and the loading will go 1/2 then stop. After about 10-15 seconds an error box will pop up that says:

Runtime Error!

programfiles:/......../outofpark.../ootp6/ootp6.exe

abnormal program termination

Have you deleted or moved ANY OOTP files or leagues?

No I haven't. Atleast not during this problem. All I use ootp6 for is to DL my league files and export my rosters, that's it basically, unless I look at stats and etc.. ingame.

Today I thought I'd delete the latest league file from my 2nd league I'm in thinking that might have been the problem, and that did no justice.

I open ootp6 and it loads 1/2 way and it makes the loading sound your computer usually makes, then... tick tick tickkkkkk tickkkkk, tick tick tickkkkk tickkkk(it sounds like it's trying to load through or something but doesn't). Then I get that error message.

Ugh....any problems w/ any other programs or files? It doesn't sound like an OOTP problem.

If so, I wouldn't know. I haven't had much of problems really.

I take it by your answer that you have had some other problems then.......if the description you give is accurate then it is possible that you are in the process of a HD failure. I'm not certain of this but sounds like you are giving symptoms of one.

The noise you are describing sounds like maybe a HD failing, I can't say that for certain since I'm not there but it would surprise me too much.

First do a defrag. That will take a few hours - just might take care of the problem. If that doesn't work, your going to have to reformat. If you do that and it still doesn't work, then your 99% sure the hard drive is bad.

You might want to start out with the less drastic step of uninstalling and reinstalling OOTP. Just copy your league files off to somewhere else on your drive first.
