Brand new Halofan roster set

Ok guys, for those of you that are interested, my new roster set is up and ready. The new updates include more rookies, all players that have signed from the draft are on their new teams, all transactions up to August 21st have been added, tinkered with more players ratings, and on SOME (not all) of the rookies, they have their current numbers that they wear in the minors. This roster set can be used with eriqjaffe's unbelievable installer as well. You will need to register for the site to get the downloads. Some rookies have been adjusted as well but remember, rookies are rated off talent so for those of you that have problems with rookies being rated "too high", please remember that they are rated off what they SHOULD do in the bigs.

As the season ends, i will adjust ALL the players again to reflect this season, BUT i will not make studs out of players that had breakout years this year as one good season and 3-4 average seasons does not make a stud.

Make sure you check the readme file also

the link for my site is in my signature and as always, opinions are VERY much desired, just dont get offended if i see things differently

Halo,

Your rosters are great....I am using the roster file previous to the new one, and am really enjoying it.

I do have a question tho. I have my league totals set up with your roster set, and they are extremely close to the 2003 league totals. However, as the seasons move forward, these settings cause fictional player offense to plummet, bringing the league BA down to around .245-.250, and pitching stats go way up as well. I am using the default modifiers that load with the roster set in regards to player creation and development. Have you done any research on what modifiers to use, to keep stats in-line even when the league becomes all-fictional? Obviously there is going to be some variance(3-4%, maybe even a little more) over the course of 5 to 10 years, but to have league offense drop so dramatically in a period of 4 or 5 seasons is worrisome to me...

Keep up the great work, and I look forward to your comments....

halofan league setting he has on the new roster, you dont go by it....

you setup the league setting the way you want...

for player evaluation AI i recommend 50% rating weight, 10% current stat rating, 30% 2nd year stat rating, 10% 3rd year stat rating

for player creation and age and development put all to 0%

also do trade on hard, favor prospect, and trading low...
25,000,000 to 30,000,000 cash max...

turn on financial..make sure everyhting is on
coach and scouts off..

you will get realistic play this way ...

wow havent heard that before, my wife usually says to keep them to myself

as for your problem, im not sure i can provide any help as i have seen offense drop as you mentioned but has gone back up and leveled off (a few players will have the obnoxious seasons as always). Now if you are referring to player modifiers as in the creation modifiers, i THINK i have them set in the roster set as +15 all around and then the aging modifier i have at -12.....now if the creation modifiers arent creating players that can carry your leagues offense, you will have to raise them up until you find a comfortable level for you. just remember that when you get them up to 50% in the creation modifiers, they CAN produce some INSANE players, actually i think they are unbeleivable in the sense that they will hit .380-.390 on a regular basis and i havent seen a player hit that high on a regualr basis in my 25 years of watching/paying attention to baseball and if you go above 50% those types of players will be more frequent in the draft and that is way to unbeleiveable for me.

these are pretty good numbers for the stats weighting also....mine are a bit higher, but not much

i have mine set at 12-15 and im fairly satisfied, now setting them at 0 will give you a much bigger challenge IMO

this is how mine is except i up the trading to normal in the last 2 weeks of july to give me that "trade deadline urgency" feeling, but it's really up to you on how you want things set

i know i will contradict myself by saying this, but i dont like using coaches at all cause its a hassle to keep them resigned and sometimes they are more picky than the players themselves. ya i know i try and get as much realism as possible, but this is probably the only thing i dont turn on.....

Your rosters are great
i appreciate the kind comments i get from everyone, let me just get that out and as long as the roster set is enjoyed, i will continue to update it every 2-3 weeks. once people begin to not like it, i will no longer create them. I am working on about 15 other roster sets for new leagues so if anyone wants a roster set made, just get with me and ill be more than happy to help out. I dont charge for any of my work nor do i charge for anything on my site except for the classifieds (donations are accepted tho ) because i feel that the "innocence of this game should be continued through the users of the game. On a side note, im not very happy with the roster set as i am a perfectionist and it can be time consumming to be one and once this is a "perfect set" in my eyes, i will be able to have fun with my roster set as i have never used my own set lol

I noticed one correction needed in your roster set. You have both Ian Snell and Ian Oquendo listed in the Pirates minor leagues. They are actually the same person. Before the season, Oquendo changed his name back to Snell (he had changed it from Snell to Oquendo before last season).

The roster set is outstanding and I am sure, appreciated by most users of the game.

One thing I did find was that Stolen bases was quite a bit higher then actually happens. Other then adjusting individuals players, is there a way to "slow guys down"? In a recently played season, three guys in the NL had more than 80 SB. In reality, there might be one 60 SB guy and 3 in the 40's. Almerican League is the same.

i just downloaded the MLB all in one roster using the 8-21 hanofan roster and everything seemed really cool and i hope i can use it more but i found a couple problems when trying to play out a game. on the in game screen, the top part is missing. i attached a screen of what it looks like. also in the .lg file there are a bunch of graphic files...do i do anything with those? i hope someone can help, and thank you.

i have never seen that before, i would GUESS that you are missing that part of the file.......you will probably have to check with eriq to find out if this has anything to do with his installer, but i have never seen that before. When i use the installer i had no problems with it and my roster set......as for the graphic files, i would leave them alone until you find out what is up with this situation first

i just checked the default career.lg league that comes with the game and i get the same problem, so it doesn't have to do with the roster patch. sorry about that. thank you for the help though =)

Looks like your scoreboard font file, swift.ttf, is either corrupted or "buh-leted!"... Here's a copy that you can try putting in the /OOTP 6/Graphics folder.
