No pbp - game crashes

I was playing a game and my computer went into hibernation mode because my battery was going dead. When I plugged in and re-started the game I attempted to play a game but when I got to the 1st batter no into pbp appeared - "welcome to Camden, blah, blah..." - and the game crashed. Same result when I try to sim a day. Any ideas?

Have you tried another league? The league you were using may have been corrupted. Or try simming the game, and try playing the next day.

Close the game or turn off the hibernation mode.

That's about as much of a reasonable answer as "don't play Ootp ..."

I also have a laptop - it also hibernates (like all the other millions of laptops). Every single other program I have ever run on my computer will hibernate just fine - except Ootp. When my system restores from a hibernation, everything comes back up except Ootp, which is just a border around a completely black screen. The mouse pointer won't even show up in this blackness. Did I mention that I've never had this trouble in any of 1000's of other programs ...

You can see I don't post much to these boards with problems ... Sound files when simming crash my system (Ootp is the only program with this problem ...). Steves 'advice' was "don't use sounds" Hibernate doesn't work, the reply is "don't use hibernate" Ootp6 waivers don't work - "don't use waivers". The logical conclusion is: Ootp doesn't work - "don't play Ootp" ...

Not all programs are compatible with the hibernate/sleep options of a system and I was simply trying to give an easy solution for this problem. I also believe that this can be system specific as my monitor can hibernate(or power down) with the game open or minimized yet when I wake it up the game is a-okay(I just tested this to make sure).
