Catobase Problem

I'm trying to get Catobase 6.1.3 to work and having problems.

I have set up a database as described in the .html file.
'Fixed' the options as described to the correct ones
When I click on 'Import Stats', it does the first few (too quick to read) and then tells me I've got a .csv file missing (league? - can't remember). I've done a search on the HDD and this doesn't appear to be anywhere.

I haven't been able to find anywhere in OOTP to export the league.csv file (only the player detail ones in setup), and the online league setup doesn't help either.

does anyone know what the problem is?

This is more of a "Is the computer plugged in?" question, so this probably isn't it...

...but did you download the exporters for Catobase 6?

No, it wasn't the exporters, they were there.

I don't know what it was, but I downloaded the 6.1.4 update, and now it works fine (except for nickname errors, but I can fix those).

Alright, I'm impatient and finally giving in to the frustrations of trying Cato for the first time. I knew I was going to be more ape-like than man trying to get this thing rolling. Need some help. That's "Uh, uh...Uh...Uh" in monkey. Take it slowly, I'm actually better with a pencil than a banana. Really.

I've installed Catobase. Read and thought I understood all of the directions including most of the posts here about "I need help etc..." Did make sure I have the v6 exporters, from here (and obviously I'm wrong) it looks like I've done what I'm supposed to have done. Still, I get the message after Import Stats that it can't find my league.csv file.

I'm not certain with 6.1.4 if I need to go in-game and generate reports or not. It doesn't appear that I have to, but when I have tried I get confused about two things: which directory does it have to match in Cato (the League Directory or the Data Directory) and when I select either the in-game message/error tells me it can't find that directory/file.

Alright. Put on the leash. I'll try anything. Thanks in advance.

Edit: Okay, I went back and just started Cato up again. This time it took. Don't know why, but it gets stuck asking me for a league.html file from the playoffs that it needs. I'm looking now, but not sure where to find it.

Alright, couple more stumbling blocks. Sorry if anyone thinks I'm being an idiot or could be better spending my holiday eve doing something else.

I went ahead and selected cancel after finding (I think) that the league.html file it's after is created in the almanac - presumably "after?" I select proceed to next season. I haven't done that yet. On the way to completing its process saw a message that had something to with Null, but it went on by. Update you when I take a look at the results here shortly, or not. Thanks again for the ear.

Edit: It's busy processing a bunch of output player information, output situational etc... and others. So I'm just going to wait it out and see what transpires as a result. Hope I don't become too much a pain. Just want to finally see what I've been missing.

Well....here's where it all ended. After everything seemed to be said and done, a screen that won't let me close it and I confess --- hand me my banana -- I have no idea what it is or what to do now. I haven't seen a lot of these trouble with 6.1.4 posts, so I'm feeling like quite the putz. But I'll get it, I know I'll get. You guys always come through. Here it is:

Yeah, I'm not sure what to think at this point. Went to the appropriate directories it created and deleted everything inside them. Hoping later after some reflection either something will dawn on me, or it will simply work itself out. Ah....wishful thinking, but we'll see. Thanks for your response.

Well, there's another way to get the league.html file without Proceeding to Next Season... From the Catobase Readme:

If this happens, a box will pop up to ask you to copy this file to the Data Directory. If necessary, generate the league reports in OOTP (under League/Online League Setup) and copy this file to the specified directory.

With Catobase, usually the first error causes the other 37 million errors

... so I'd try starting over, putting the league.html where it asks when it asks.

At this point the anticipation is growing!

I changed all my teams to 3 letter abbreviations, made the change in the ltrans.txt to rid myself of a couple of =r entries ............ all the way to outputting players A-Z now with no errors yet! Hoping I don't see that error 3021 at the end of things given that all has been clean so far. You guys and this reference arena are the best. I am REALLY hoping to see some Cato screens before morning.

While I doubt I did anything too groundbreaking with your issue, the fact that you've gotten past the player page generation should be taken as a good sign. Good luck

Creed, the mood I've been in and the frustrations and/or determination I've been working with -- the fact that there was interest from anyone, let alone the desire to help on a holiday eve with just me and my OOTP -- I really can't thank all of you enough. Oh man!! Who'da thought I'd be sitting here at this hour on this night leaning forward in front of my computer watching little streams of data compile on my screen with odd little phrases like Positional Leaderboards and compiling Team Summaries, and without conscience at all letting a gutteral "puh leeeeeease...." leave my lips?

But yes, it's done. I took one glance at a couple of screens and I can't tell ya!! Is this Cato talented or what?! For all you veterans out there, I must seem like a ten year old whooping it up over his first home run, but for me a relative n00b (did I get that right Gas?) to the database scene this might be better than sex.

I'm going to peruse the new addition now and again THANKS SO MUCH for being there. I've now officially used up all my enthusiasm for both 2004 and 2005. Expect my dark and serious tone to emerge ever-so-shortly.

Hey endgame, how did you end up solving the problem with the error 3021 message...im pretty much in the same boat as you with all the errors that you got....did it have anything to do with the abbriviations that you did? Let me know cause i to want to get over the hump
