BOSI/Catobase question
Do these programs collect statistics retroactively? Can I sim from 1901 to present and install either of these and have them generate data from past seasons, or do I need to install them first?

I think you can install them first but I'm horrible getting those utilities to work.

actually I'm wondering if I should install them first, or can I install them after I've started and have them read back.

as far as im aware (and im no expert) cato needs info from each year. you have to stop your sim after each playoff but before you "proceed to next season" and archive your league folder. you can then "import" into cato, but you dont have to "generate reports". then you can go on to the next season. after you've simmed all seasons (and made copies of each) you can run Cato 1 time to generate the reports. it will take a hell of a long time to run it on 100 seasons worth of data, but its doable. i usually wait until ive simmed 5 seasons (and imported along the way) to generate the reports and takes about 1 hour on my machine.

You can import the older stats as "career" stats. Stats accumulated while using BOSI are more in depth, you get split stats for trades, and development history. Other then that, everything else will come through on a career import.

CatoBase needs to be ran at the end of each season. You would not be happy with the results if you ran it on a 100 year old season. Importing the data only takes a few minutes. Creating the pages can take a while, but you don't need to do that every year.

^^would know
Maybe I'll begin using it when I get closer to opening the league, so current players (upon opening league online) are there. Thanks.
