Signing bug back?
I bought a new cpu, reinstalled OOTP6 on it; downloaded to the 6.03 version. Signing contract offers tonight and I get the dreaded "I want $600,000 for 1 year". I make the exact offer and get "The amount of money is not enough." So, using the old fallback from OOTP5 and OOTP6.01 I offer $610,000 and he signs.
I though 6.03 was supposed to fix that?

I use 6.03 and get this problem.
Usually I just throw in $1 extra and they sign. It's a bug, but I can afford that $1 so I don't complain. |

I understand this particular bug is not a big deal in and of itself, but I am seeing a very disturbing trend. There are a large number of hold over bugs from past versions of OTTP. Many of these should have been squashed long long ago. It just makes you feel like the game is done sloppily in some ways. Almost as if it's designed this way on purpose in some instances due to limitations in programming know how. Don't get me wrong I think Marcus is a good programmer (far better than I- that;s for sure), but sometimes I just get the feeling some features are slapped together and not tested in detail. It's just frustrating when you see this, and yet there;s a feature in the game that allows you to have children? I mena seriously, that's a worthless feature as far as a baseball GM career sim goes. I just feel like OOTP has lots of loose ends, and isn't put together as tightly as say FOF. Gindin takes pride in not having loose ends, and makes sure every feature is working to it's fullest capability before adding new ones. After all, with each new feature comes a new set of problems- pretty soon the can of worms being opened can get pretty hairy if you don't keep up with things.
Just my 2 cents. |

This bug was squashed in OOTP5 and resurfaced in 6. Can't be the coding, as it was fixed before. And yes, like a lot of the issues they are not that big. But when you add them all together... it can get unwieldy.

If he use some of the original code in OOTP v6 you can carry over such bug. Even when you fix it with a patch.
