Can you handle the NL East?
Around the Horn is a MLB simulation that started in March 2003, and we are currently starting our sixth season (2008).
http://www.ath.ootp-online.com After a rocky start which is pretty standard for MLB simulations we have currently reached a stage where we have those type of owners that have are not only concerned with winning and having A-Rod on their team, but in the development of our league as well. We just switched to v6 and have lost some owners in the process, and are looking to replace them. We are newbie friendly and don't have those owners that instantly want to trade with new owners when they come in In terms of development, we have certain features and tools that are already implemented and used. These include: - B.O.S.I. v2 (when upgraded) - Export Tracker - CATO History - Voting on Allstars and End of Season awards - An informative, intuitive and clean website - A solid set of rules - Explicit financial rules that enhance parity and equal chances for all - Stickware Scheduler - A Ballpark section - Different size of league files available for download - An organized and clean messageboard - Integrated Coranto - A steady amount of articles - 3x weekly live sims via AIM You can find our website here: http://www.ath.ootp-leagues.com And our constitution: http://www.ath.ootp-leagues.com/constitution.html Our future plans for development and new tools include: - A solid v6 transition including using all financial rules. We just finished editing the Pro Service years of all players to ensure realism. Next up: MLB Service and Option years - Relocation - Stadium renovations - Foreign players import As you can see we have developed quiet nicely over the last 17 months of our existance, and plan to build on that. We currently have the New York Mets available, a perennial contender in the strong NL East. The Mets a habit breaking down in August and September, but have the quality to compete again this year. If you are interested in owning the Mets, please get in touch with the commissioner per email: matteo@elbb.com Matt ATH Commissioner

Looks like a solid league. Good luck to whoever gets the team.

That's cause you apply for like every league. You're not trying to catch up to Jeff Cobb are you?

As GM of the Braves I can attest that the N.L. East of the ATH is one of the toughest divisions I've been in as far as online leagues. In most cases the last place N.L. East team will still finish at or near the middle of the Power Rankings by seasons end. Most years the the N.L. Wild Card comes out of the East as well.
IMO opinion, there are 4 teams in the East that has a shot at winning 85 games or more...and 3 might win 90+...New York being one of those teams. If you want to be in a good race....take New York. |

I now have to say: can you handle the AL West or NL Central, as the Anaheim Angels and Pittsburgh Pirates just became available!
Shoot me a message (matteo@elbb.com) if you are interested! Matt
