can't proceed to offseason

hi,

i am the commish of B.O.A. , we are at the end of season 1 using ootp6 and trying to proceed to offseason. when i hit the button all goes well until it gets to "generating amateurs" screen and and it hangs up until the program finally crashes. if i open the league up afterwards it opens incredibly slow (like 7 minutes to load and save) and it seems to have skipped the free agency phase and is going right into the rule v draft. i even restored an earlier file redid the extensions and tried 2 more times with no luck. can anybody help me out on this? site is www.baseballowners.com

I'm seeing the same behavior going to season 7 of a solo league. After repro'ing the problem a couple of times,
I popped open the debugger and poked around. Here's the call stack when the error occurs. It's interesting to
note that ddraw.dll is on the stack because I've disabled Direct3D mode.

Windows XP , all the latest SP and updates

Closed down all other programs for testing purposes.....

1 GB DDR 400 Mushkin

103 GB free space.

running latest patched version of ootp6

Did you delete or move ANY files?

Yes, I would make sure that you have the appropriate names.dat files in your game directory as well as the college.dat file, etc. The symptoms suggest that one of these files is missing and that the game is hanging trying to locate it.
