I made a dumb mistake while running catobase at the end of the year. I accidentally changed one of my team abbreviations and didn't catch it until I had already imported stats and created the html. I did not back up the database before proceeding. Now I have a team that is represented by two abbreviations with the old one carrying all the history but the lastest season.
Can I edit the database to merge the info back together? If so, how? |

I'd have to play around to tell you exactly what to do...
BUT... I think you'd just have to open the database in Access, and change all the team abrvs to what you'd like. It'd be a lot of work, but should work. OR... if it's just the last season that is messed up, the latest version of Catobase includes an option to delete the last season that has been added. Simply delete the info, and import everything once again. Hope that helps! |

I think you can simply open up CatoBase, use Edit --> Team Info to change the team abbreviations year by year.

I haven't updated from 6.0.0. yet, so I will try that first.

You can't use Edit/Team Info to change the abbreviations. I would recommend using a newer version and deleting and reimporting the season. But, you could do it manually. Either way, I would certainly do it on a backup copy first.
To do it manually, you would need to look in each table (except the cj_* tables) and change the abbreviation, if it's in there. I think the only special case is the Teams table. In this one, you would need to delete the row with the bad abbreviation and change the LastYear value of the row with the correct abbreviation. |
