Historical names.dat files?
I could have sworn someone had created a set of names.dat files for the late 1800s - early 1900s era with nicknames/names that were common in that era.
If so, can someone please point me in the right direction? I've searched here and at JoeRock's site to no avail. |

Sorry Cooley haven't gotten that far yet on the site. I did find some stuff for you though that may help. Here's a link to a thread that has 643gdp's 1880's Name File. It's the ninth post down.
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ad.php?t=68393 The other is Malleus Dei's Historical Name File which can be located at Baseball SimCentral in the OOTP4 section. http://files.simcentral.net/index/Ou...Park_4/Extras/ That's all I could find right off the bat.

Ok, if anyone is interested, I took 643gdp's first name file and added about 100 'nickname' type first names to it, such as Doc, Slap, Duck, etc to make the file even better IMO.
Thanks to him for 90% of the work on this file. |

I'll take it. Email me at JoeRockEHF@comcast.net and I can have it up at the Download Center when I get to the Misc. section.

Slap Stiller was the most prolific HR hitter in the old Home Town Baseball league!!
Actually, I found the old HTB site last night still up on StatBasedBaseball from YEARS ago!! http://www.sportplanet.com/sbb/htb It has several league files and the HTML from that season where you can look at all the players' names. It was a nostalgic read for me!!

FWIW, I really like 643gdp's name files.
