CatoBase Problem/Question

I'm getting the following error repeatedly when trying to run my current season:

Quote:
Run-time error '-2147467259 (80004005)':

The changes you requested to the table were not successful because they would create duplicate values in the index, primary key, or relationship. Change the data in the field or fields that contain duplicate data, remove the index, or redefine the index to permit duplicate entries and try again.
I can't find any options in the program to do any of the things listed above. Am I missing something? A little help, please? Thanks!

Thins like this are why I maintain that Catobase, while very good at what it does, is not a program for newbies.

If you're playing pre-1947 American baseball, then the All-American Mod (a namefiles/ethnicites/nation/cities file pack) is for you.

the game itself has/had many errors/problems too, is it not for newbies?

Seriously, MD, try the new version first. Why do you feel the need to bludgeon this point? At what point is it ok for us "seasoned" folks to begin introducing the poor, ignorant "newbies" to CatoBase, anyway? Right now, CatoBase is a heck of a lot easier to use than the game itself. Please limit the condescending attitude.

I have. This an informed opinion.

Answer: not immediately.

That's an opinion that I disagree strongly with.

Please stop the personal attacks; that comment added nothing to the discussion except to lower my opinion of you and was in violation of the new guidelines.

You actually made my point for me. A newbie has enough on his plate learning the game without having to learn Catobase as well just as he begins to play OOTP.

I agree with you; it's not for newbies but it is fun once you get it working right.

Bah! Go away, please. You add nothing to the discussion.

Give it a rest! I have had more than my fair share of run-ins will Mal and I don't particularly care for him. I was "on record" as saying that the new rules were quite silly and I told Henry and we respectfully disagreed. However, Mal has toned it down a good deal since and I am now thinking that maybe the rules are a good idea. I have been quite childish in response to some of Mal's posts and it does no good. I am not saying Mal is right and I am not saying that I like the guy but I don't have to like him. Following him around and looking for anything that you slightly disagree with is not helping and the bickering gets old fast. I, too, have been here since V1 of the game so I know Mal more than some (on the boards). In his latest Add-Ons thread he was bashed for no reason and the same is happening in this thread. Give it up, things have been better lately.

Nice of you to notice. I've been doing my best to follow the guidelines, but the Off Topic crowd has been gleefully ignoring them and continuing their trademark non-stop bashing and harassment. I went first; if they can clean up their acts we'll have a well-behaved board. On the other hand, if they won't clean up their acts, then we can go right back to the way things were. I can go either way; I can take on the lot of them any time I need to and fight them all to a standstill over and over, or we can all get along, no big deal to me either way. The choice is theirs: a board that actually works, or a trainwreck like the one we have.

Boards that actually work discuss ideas in non-personal ways. It doesn't matter who said what, it matters *what* was said. When people fight, they attack ideas, and never, ever people - the issues never get personal and no perosnal comments are ever made. This board used to be that way before the Off Topic crowd harassed and ran Tris off; it can be that way again if the OT gang are willing to finally follow the moderators' guidelines and clean up their acts.

The choice is theirs. I went first. Have they got enough stones and maturity to follow me? We'll have to see.
