HELP! Problems exporting CSV Files using 6.03
Problem Exporting Player General CSV files...
<HR style="COLOR: #aaaaaa" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->I can't get this file to export correctly... I am trying to use DAVWM's origin editor, but everytime I export the csv file, the players state ends up under catcher rating... So for instance it says Orlando, FL but it ends up being Orlando FL. This only happens to players that have cities and states, not to players that only have countries listed... Is there a setting that can correct this issue? I have tried importing it every way possible into excel and have hda no luck.... Thanks Matter2003 <!-- / message --> |

Origin
The Origin should come out with no comma in it. If you insert the comma it will move the state over 1 field because the comma is the separator. If you want to have a field that has a comma then you need to have quotes around the field. Just View it using wordpad instead of excel....
Hope this helps. |

No, that is the problem...
The origin is coming out WITH a comma in it directly from OOTP when you export it. I have attempted to open in Word, Excel, Wordpad, and Notepad and have gotten the same results from all of them... Is this a 6.03 issue? Matter2003 |

I posted this in another thread in ths forum. Note that you have to do a double export-import and why you have to do so.
============================================== How to use "davwms' Origin Generator" to generate 100% American cities as places of origin: 1. Create your league 2. Export player_general.csv file from within OOTP6 3. Edit the player_general.csv file with a speadsheet program to make all of the origins read "USA" (you can cut and paste to do this) 4. Save the file as a .csv file and exit the spreadsheet 5. Import the modified player_general.csv back into OOTP6 6. Re-export player_general.csv file from within OOTP6 7. Now run "davwms' Origin Generator" 8. Re-import player_general.csv back into OOTP6 You have to do the double export-import because "davwms' Origin Generator" won't read any .csv files but the one that OOTP writes. The good news is that it works.
