BUG: Players strikes? Cause they all left town...

Shortly after installing 6.03 I came back the next day and noticed the game would not sim, nor could i go to any team pages. The leader board is empty, no free agents, and no waiver players...

I checked the files and the players file is no 0kb... damn

Oh well...

Just a heads up, I hope it isnt happening to anyone else.

i had the same exact problem. the problem definitely seems to be the players.dat file. i replaced the file with the old file from a backup, but all the stats and leaders are gone.

so frustrating to get so far into the season only to have it crash on you...is there anyone on the board who can help us?

Are you certain that you installed the patch in the proper place? I've been updating and installing patches for years and never had or seen this problem if the patch is installed to the same location as the game.

<--- wonders if default rosters were used, or if some other roster mod is what was lost.

I had the same thing happen to me after installing Halofan's roster set.

It was my own fault though, here's what I did, and what I'm pretty sure caused the problem:

Installed Halofan's roster set.

Switched Tampa Bay to Human Control and started trading away the crap and improving my team.

Finished fine tuning my team (took a couple of hours) and realized I hadn't enabled Manager Mode.

Enabled Manager mode, signed with the Rays, went away.

Came back, loaded up Halofan.lg . . . everything gone.

Bitched and moaned for a little while, then restarted the league, this time enabling and starting a manager mode before making any changes to the team.

Everything's fine.
