Friendly suggestion for anyone in online leagues

Quite often I get E-Mails from league members saying players on the trading block. But only about 5% of these E-Mails say what team it's for AND what league it is for. Half the people just say I got players available but don't say anything more and I have no idea who John might be (especially since some leagues have high turnover) I'd say about 50% say what team they have but they leave out the league. When I was in one league, this wasn't a problem. But for those of us who are in several leagues, we may have no idea what league John/Cards plays in. Sure would help to have a bit more info.

Anyway, no biggie, but the more info the better.

I always (if I remember), put my league initials in the subject. I also find it helps, at least in fictional leagues, to name your teams such that there's no confusion. As far as I know, I own the only Cintawny Wombat Horde in OOTP-land.

Agree that the league initials should be in the subject. I try to always put my league initials and team name. With historical leagues, renaming the team something unique isn't an option. I'm in five leagues that have the St.Louis Cardinals, so Jerry/Cards doesn't help much....

When doing online league related e-mail, I also always put the league ABBR in the subject (i.e. NGBL: Spring Training Schedule). I do this mostly because I'm completely slammed with e-mail, and know that I personally appreciate as much info from the subject line as possible.

method

That method is great, I think. The first word of the email’s subject should be the league acronym.

Personally, I'm really not a fan of trade blocks e-mailed league wide. There should be a spot on the message board for that.

If everyone checked message boards that would be great. But in many leagues, owners don't check the boards at all.

I know; I run a league.

I'll admit that while I do a pretty good job of checking for discussion and annoucements I don't pay much attention to the trading block or completed trades. But that's my preference.

same for me....i may glance at the block, but only if im looking to deal....no point in looking at the block for "pipe dream" players that you can afford, ya know?
