Team claims own player off waivers

I saved the screen on my home computer, but don't have the file here. It's pretty funny. One of the teams in my league claimed its own player off waivers. I don't know how often this has happened, but this is the first I've noticed.

The problem here is that it's a way a team can get around waivers if it has a poor record. Imagine this:

Team in league with worst record puts player on waivers. Claims same player. No one else can claim the player because they have the worst record. Therefore, they are, in effect, able to conduct business without waivers.

True, but I think the only reason that happens is becasue the player is considered "bordeline" in terms of how the team made the decision. I'm sure there's no "database flag" set to mark that the team released the player (beyond the text message) so the AI has "no clue" at that point. It should be a rarity.

I still think there should be something to prevent this from happening. I'd be pretty annoyed if I were the 2nd worst team and the worst team did this with a player I wanted to claim. Also, it's a way for a human to cheat in an online/multiplayer league that might get in under the radar if a commish isn't watchful enough.
