Trade offer bug(OOTP6)

Just now I noticed a problem in the trade offer screen. I am using the Tigers and went to make a trade with the Mets. I had nobody on my side of the deal(I hadn't put anybody up to be trade yet), I just wanted to see if there was anyone I could trade for David Wright, so I right click on his name in the Mets roster and it tells me that "We cannot affored the contract of the offered player." I dont understand this because Wright is signed to a minor league contract and I did have anybody on my side of the deal. I dont know if there is another message that should be coming up and the game is pulling the wrong message or what. Just thought I would bring it to someones attention.
