Question About Creating A Fictional Historic Replay

What I would like to do is to create a replay of MLB history with the real teams but with new players. The only way that I have seen so far to do this would be to create a custom league and create the 16 original teams and then adjust the player creation modifiers to adjust the players to deadball era power ratings. I think that my first test was to make the power creation modifier -85. I will continue to test this further when the patch is released and I can sim a season in under a year and a half. Anybody try this and if so is there a better way to create such a league? If you used the creation modifiers to do this what where your ratings that you used?

Gibson swings, and a fly ball to deep right field! This is gonna be a home run! Unbelievable! A home run for Gibson! And the Dodgers have won the game, 5 to 4; I don't believe what I just saw! I don't believe what I just saw!

I did one a little while back and your thinking is bang on. Tweak the player creation modifiers and maybe play with league settings a little and you are all set to go. Easiest way is as you mentioned - create a 16 team fictional league and rename all the teams to the real mlb names of the era.

I've had plenty of success in creating fictional leagues that mimic historic major league baseball by NOT tweaking anything except the "Recalculate for Historical Accuracy" button. I didn't have to change any player creation modifiers or anything else, besides the era, of course. Has anyone else been successful in this way?
