what ever happened to...
this has probably been done a hundred times, but I think it needs to be done again.
I was just thinking about the Phillies and wondered whatever happened to Ron Jones... http://www.baseball-reference.com/j/jonesro02.shtml I know he had injury problems, but man, could that guy hit the ball. I still remember playing Pursue the Pennant with a league full of scrubs / players with less than 150 AB's and he always dominated. This is all BaseballLibrary.com had to say about him... "Jones showed power beyond any of his minor league numbers when the Phillies called him up in 1988; he hit eight homers in 124 at-bats. However, he spent most of 1989 on the DL. " Some of my other favorites that washed out or were one year wonders... Andy Rincon Tony Ghelfi German Barranca Manny Hernandez George Bjorkman Brad Mills John Rabb Brad Komminsk

Bob Zupcic?
Phil Plantier? Todd Benzinger? Dwayne Hosey? Randy Kutcher? Kevin Romine? Jeff Sellers? I can go on forever. This is literally my favorite baseball subject, though I have no idea why. From the time I was a kid, I was always obsessed with the scrubs, the contributers but not the stars. They've always been my favorite players. (I went as far as to revolve an OT Survivor challenge around it)

On a sorta related note, whatever happened to Cecil Fielder? Did he go to Japan to play (Think I heard that) and if he did, does he still play....if he does...how is he doing?

I thought he went to Japan after playing with Toronto and then came back and played with Detroit (where he hit 50)...
