Patch 6.02A makes game run slower?

Has anyone else found that after installing the 6.02a patch that OOTP is running alot slower? The games are taking much longer to sim and it seems to "stick" on the "Finishing Day" section of the simulation.

Sim speed of games is about the same. Day finished takes about 30 seconds to complete and Week finished takes about 60 seconds to complete. Glad someone else noticed also.

I'm just guessing here. But Markus said he tweaked the AI process that applies to irrevocable waivers, etc.

Is it possible that adding more AI analysis for CPU controlled teams for irrevocable waivers, etc., has slowed down each day?

It doesn't seem noticeably slower to me.

Windows me

Game started to run much slower after patch 6.02 and even slower after patch 6.02a. Day finished times are now almost a minute and a half and week finished run about 2 minutes.

I think there is definitely a problem unless Markus really did intend to use up that much CPU power with the AI changes. My system is pretty fast:

P4 3.2C running at DDR400 with 1GB of PC3700 RAM and a Radeon 9800 Pro video card (Windows XP SP1)

I have a 40 team test league that I use to testing ratings. I have simmed this league 100's of times on 6.01 and it takes about 6 minutes to do the whole regular season.

I just ran the same league with 6.02a and things didn't seem too bad until Sept rolled around. Day ends in Sept take about 12 seconds on my machine and Week ends are 25 seconds. The whole season takes about 15 minutes now (about 2.5x what it was with 6.01). I suspect it is related to all the callups and the AI associated with them.

I doubt he intended it to take 25 seconds for a P4 3.2 to finish a week but maybe there is that much more computation going on. We'll have to see what Markus thinks.

whereas before 3-5 seconds

Yes, much slower here as well.

2.8GHZ
1GB RAM
Windows XP

All drivers/windows up to date.

Game sim seems the same but end of day and week is much slower...

Much slower than previous version, to the point of not being worth adding the patch.

Also have a previously working league that crashes and won't run with the patch. All the other leagues work.

1.4 GHZ
512 RAM
Win ME (I know, I know, OOTP no longer works on Model T software)

System specs do not matter. The game ran extremely fast prior to the 6.02A patch and now it runs very slow. The patch should not slow down the game that much, there must be a glitch in the program. I warn others to wait another day or two and see if Markus issues another patch to fix this problem.

...If it's not running slow for EVERYONE, yes, they do matter. Only when the game no longer interacts with the OS or the rest of the system to they not matter.

So, when Markus releases the handheld version of OOTP, you'll be right. Until then, it would probably help the developers to find out on what system this is happening.

Everyone who says they don't see any change...

Did you run a full season and do you have it so that you can have the expanded major league roster in September? On my system I didn't really see any change until Sept. 1. It took about 5 minutes to sim to the end of August but 10 minutes to do just Sept. on my machine.

I don't have real numbers, because I never measured it, but it *seems* to be at least 3 times slower than before. It is actually running more like 6.01 with anti-virus on, except anti-virus is off.

I'm thinking it might be slower on mine, but I'm not sure, so it's likely just a placebo effect. If it is slower, it's not nearly as noticable as many make it out to be.
