Interest in Fictional League Photos?

Hey there. I'm currently working on a fictional league faceset for my personal solo league, but I'm wondering if anyone else might have some interest in it. I'm using FaceGen, a set of uniform templates off of baseballsimcenter, MVP Baseball 2004, and OOTP Graphics. You'll see, you'll see. :P

Anyway, I'm pumping them out fairly quickly, though with my schedule I'm not sure how soon I'd finish them. I just wanted to see if there's any interest for a release like this. If so, I'll try to hurry it up and make a release with varied uniforms, accessories, etc. The attached is what they look like ingame. Let me know!

I'd be interested too... I found some facepacks of low-level minors guys on one of the download sites (I forget which), but these computer generated ones are pretty good too.

I made one with 800 "anonymous" players about a year or so ago. I just finished up a follow-up pack of 1000 additional pictures. My face packs feature players of all ages with all logos removed. I've just been lazy about uploading the second one. I'll get to it this weekend.

I personally can't stand the "created" faces. They look to fake to me. Some I have seen kind of creep me out I'd rather use real faces available.

But LL, there are so many things you can do with these! As anyone who uses Facegen knows, you get better, much better overtime. Tell me these don't look pretty real:

I can even make these look like very early photographs, talking pre to early-1900:

Cool.

Alright...I have 250 at the moment (without accessories like bats or anything yet - I'll add some in later). I've been getting and modding some more uniforms from MVP and changing uniforms every 50 pics or so. I'd like to send it out when I get about 1500 faces, so that's 30 uniforms. Anyways...not sure when I'll finish by, but they're coming pretty quickly. For now, here's what some look like in game:

Shorty, I'll admit, you guys have come a long way with those! They do look good.
Are most of them supposed to look Asian?

Thought I would contribute a little by showing some from my Western Baseball Alliance. Most of the templates are borrowed with permission from others who frequent this board and the faces are a mixture of ones I created with Facegen and ones from other talented people here.

All I can really take credit for is the hat logos and uniforms. I found a real nice trick for the uniforms was to search for real ones and add the jersey logo into my player photo.

My work is nowhere near perfect but it personalizes the players for my league.

Top row has a pair of Portland Beavers players, Denver Bears slugger Ben Schmitz, and two Kansas City Blues players.

Bottom row is a player from the New Orleans Pelicans, 2 players from my Salt Lake squad including number one pick David McMullin (in the middle of the row), a player from the Alburquerque Arrowheads and finally a member of the Hollywood Stars.

I also added each teams home park to provide the background to the images.

My hope is to get a complete set of 25-30 photos for each of my 16 teams. I am about a quarter of the way done now.

I am glad that a lot of you guys have been messing around with the templates. I have several others that I use for the ATHL if you are interested. Another option is just to download the picture files from the ATHL website. We have over 500 custom pictures with team specific uniforms. Here is a quick sample.

Shorty, your picks are really looking good! I see you are mastering the art of facial hair.

I must admit, I like the faces, but I just can't deal with the off-centered caps. It just keeps reminding me of Coco Crisp's "official" photo. How can I take a guy seriously with a name like that who also does not know how to properly wear a ball cap? I can't stand seeing people wearing their hat like that. I must have gotten old.

It seems like a lot of people are getting into Deft's templates. They make it a lot easier. I've started adding my own logo layers to the one's he included. Another good project would be a "layer" project. I noticed Tiger Fan's chest protecter. Items like that or a mask, a couple different bats would be nice to have. I've been using Deft's layers and just duplicating them and adjusting the colors to go with my teams. I wish I had his skill to do the uniform lettering, though. Everybody's pics look great. Here are a few of my recent one's....

I'll be fixing the caps, actually. I'm going to try ripping some off MVP images tonight and placing it so that they're aligned properly (in the right direction) and fit the 3D faces better.
