GRrr, Frustrated

Anyone know how to stop/save this from happening
I bought the game like 2 days ago, started a franchise, about halfway through 2nd season, game locks up and stops responding for like 10 mins, so eventually i shut it down.

When I go to play it again, it crashes or locks up when i try to play or sim so its just stuck there

so I delete that one, start over, and half way through the second season, it locks up again, wont let me play or sim.

Anyone know why? or how to be able to keep going, becuase if its going to do this, then i feel like i just wasted 35$s

By "halfway" do you mean "at the trading deadline"? If so, you may just have to wait for the computer to finish dealing. What are the specs on your PC?

Sim that day game by game. When it crashes again, check which game it crashed on. Check both teams to make sure their lineups/depth charts/pitching staffs are filled out correctly (ie. no open lineup spots, a starting pitcher is named and available)

Get back to us if this doesn't work

mm never had any problems with mine and in 8th season now since switching to 6.

Are you playing with a customized schedule? rosters? or anything not coming with the orginal game. If you are I would try simming a season with the regular rosters and just see what you get.

i was thinking this first but it locking at the same time of the season doesnt really make me suspect it this much but how much hard disk space is left, how much are you saving (box scores, game logs) maybe you are running out of disk space. Beyond that possible bad sectors on your hard drive, run a scandisk on the drive and check it. hope that helps.

LapTop or Tower?

Actually, if you are running windows XP 128 Meg is not enough to be running this game. You might want to look to upgrade.

Tower

I almost think it has to do with the Roster set im using, maybe something goofy, becuase I brought up both games, same day same game they both stall on, (7/5/2005, Detriot, Cleveland Im cleveland)

Check Detroit to make sure there are no empty lineup or rotation spots. An open spot in the lineup can cause a crash.

Also, if you're doing a sim of the entire season, disable your screen saver.

Run computer manager on all teams, including your own.

More than likely one of the following is the problem:

-The same position is listed twice in the lineup.
-The same player is listed twice in the lineup.
-One position is missing.
-An "injured" pitcher is scheduled to start a game.
