Utility Proposal - Playoff Editor

Perhaps this is best aimed at Pierre.

How about a little utility that you can use to edit the playoffs? Not necessarily the structure of the playoffs (although that would be nice), but at least to edit the teams in them (to eliminate the same-division wildcard issue) and/or edit home field advantage?

And, while I'm smoking crack here, perhaps the utility could allow us to manually add playoffs to a single league?

I know next to nothing about programming (aside from some BASIC, back in my Commodore 64 days) or anything about the structure of the various league files, so I don't know if such a utility could be written.

But I'm sure that I'm not alone in wishing something along these lines could exist.

From what Pierre has said in the past, it's not possible to make these modifications due to the way the game engine is designed.

You can edit home field advantage. Once the regular season is over and the playoff opponents have been set, if you don't like the way the home field matchups have been set by the game, you can go to the game's schedule editor, delete the game and then add a new game with proper visitor and home team. It does not affect the game's ability to deal with the playoffs at all. I do it every season if the team with the best record is not given home field advantage.

I can't help you with changing the playoff teams though, although I have never tried to just force different matchups by editing them into the schedule.
