What am I doing wrong?

Look guys. My team sucks butt. I keep signing on bigger, badder dudes each year but my team can barely break .500. I live that it is hard because most baseball games I have ever played you are winning a championship within 5 minutes. I got fired right after my wife got pregnant! The owner is a total dick.

Any tips? I am completely at a loss.

Also where is a good place to get better graphics for my game? I would like to have faces on all my players and how come the game doesn't come with some generic faces? Even if they were just 1 white guy face, 1 black dude face 1 mexican dude adn a chinese guy and they all looked the same it would be better than having this mystery man looking back at you.

OOTP is pretty damn cool! Why didn't anybody show me this a long time ago?!?

If you're playing pre-1947 American baseball, then the All-American Mod (a namefiles/ethnicites/nation/cities file pack) is for you.

I had a pitcher come up from the minors because my major league guy was injured and he pitched good for one game and the next game he had a career ending injury??? Is it possible they get hurt faster when they are at the wrong level? That poor guy has a 1.91 career era now in 9.1 innings and will never play again lets please have a moment of silence. Also. How many pitchers is enough? I have only a couple relief pitchers because there are so many good outfielders I want to have on my active roster but I don't want them to be sitting the bench while my pitchers are dying out there. HELP!

Just relax for a moment. Having a balanced team is much more important than having lots of big stars, especially if you can't give them all playing time. I'll start with the most basic thing -- roster composition. Most teams carry from 10-12 pitchers, four or five of whom are starters, with the rest in the bullpen. As far as position players go, most teams carry 2 or 3 catchers, 1 or 2 first basemen, 4 or 5 other infielders, and 5 or 6 outfielders. If you have more or fewer at any of these positions, you're going to have real problems with playing time. Make sure that your big stud players don't play at the same position, or you'll be wasting money on guys who can't get any playing time. Start from there and see how you do.

Pitching, pitching, pitching. Forget the bats. Try to stock up on good starters and a few good relievers.

It's hard to diagnose what may be going wrong for your team, without knowing what you're doing right. That is to say, there are a little millions things that are needed to make a bad team good and a good team great. But missing just 'one' important element can negate a whole lot of skillful postives you're probably doing.

But having said that I will also say that the number one element that I find overlooked is- defence. Defence will not directly win a game but it can directly cause a team to lose.

I have found that having good coaches also helps...try to get a "Legendary" hitting and pitching coach. It seems to help.
