Resign a 32 year old?

I'm debating resigning one of my superstars. However, he is 32 this season, and wants a 6 year deal. He is average in most categories, but brilliant in HR's, current rating of 10 (12 vs. RHP). He has also been an MVP for the last two seasons, with the stats to back it up.

How long is he realistically going to stay good for? He basically wants his current salary, which is high but still lower than he would go for in free agency.

In v5 most stars maintain ratings to age 36, then start to decline. I would attempt to sign him to a 4 or 5 year deal. You will get your money's worth out of him at that length.
