This makes me want to vomit...

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/sport...ory?id=1795742

chances are I would not have seen SpiderMan 2 anyway considering I didn't see #1 - but this guarantees it.

How long till the Yankees uniforms are replaced with NASCAR type uniforms.

feel free to call me an old curmudgeon now, because I am.

Yep I agree - it is very sad.

I know that many leagues have advertising everywhere including all over the uniforms. I am sure we will see that before long.

"This is not a step toward wallpapering the ballpark"

Gotta love that quote from Bob DuPuy. Does he think we're all idiots? How is it not a step towards that?

Well, the Yankees make me want to puke anyway, but the man is right - this is a new low.

Look for it to get worse. In the MLB these days, only money talks.

Surprised they didn't try to get the players to wear spandex Spiderman costumes on the field. Soon the teams won't even be represented as belonging to a city - it'll be the 'Paramount Pictures Dodgers' or the 'SBC Rangers'. Don't forget that awesome rivalry between the 'Anheuser-Busch Cardinals' and the 'Tribune Company Cubs'. Brought to you by the King of Beers. Ack...

Hey, while we're at it why don't we just mow a giant Nike Swoosh into the outfield. Don't forget to sell all that empty ad space at the top of all the domed stadiums. Don't worry fans without domes. Starting next summer we're gonna go for the ultimate and put a Microsoft ad across the surface of the Moon. What are we gonna do after we've chopped up and sold every last piece of this planet?

Maybe when they distribute the money, they can actually force owners like MIL, CIN, PIT, SD spend it on players...

As my own small protest, I will not see the movie, nor will I watch any of the games that take place that weekend. This is bull****.

im really surprised that this hasnt happened before. look at all the euro soccer teams, most of them have corporate sponsorship very boldly emblazoned on their shirts (sony, parmalat, etc)...im just hoping it doesnt reach ridiculous proportions.

even now, every damn situation in the game has a sponsor. "true value will make a generous $50 contribution for every walk" or "this pitching change brought to you by hotels.com"

there is no escape.
