Is it just me...

Man...I swear I hate getting 2 outs on a team because once I get 2 outs on someone the floodgates open...

Never fails, once I get 2 outs the computer always seems to lace 3-4 hits in a row. This happens all the time in different times of the game - early, fresh reliever...doesn't matter.

Ugh...this sort of thing is why I have never played a full season through and I've owned this game since OOTP2!!

you're just noticing it more. My solution? Keep stats on it. You'll note that it's not happening nearly as often as you think it is.

Worst part is I have a damn good pitching staff too:
Pedro, Mulder, Schilling, Batista, and Washburn for starters and they're all regularly getting rocked (ok, not Pedro so much).

I'll have to keep track of how often it happens I guess, but it just pisses me off all the time. I got through most of June in my 1st season and gave up and simmed the rest...

What does seem to happen way too often for me is that, in a league where the pitcher bats, I'll see an opposing pitcher mow down the first eight batters in order, but then the ninth batter (pitcher) gets a single. It seems to happen so often that when I see the first eight batters out, it's a surprise to see the pitcher out as well.

Strange, this seems to occur to me when there's only one out most of the time. Then again, I currently have Mike Maroth (6.22 ERA) & Shingo Takatsu ("Mr. Zero" ...Boy, is that an appropriate nickname!), with his stellar 8.46 ERA (that's actually lower than in real life), on my pitching staff. So it's no wonder that my guys can't get a single out before the dreaded floodgates open.

By any chance, is "Mr. Zero" on your staff as well?

I demand a Mr. Zero patch for OOTP6!!

How's your pitching coach? It might be time to fire him and hire a new one. His rating does have to do with how well your pitching staff is performing.

yep, ya caught me, I cheat.

I found these awesome secret spots in the game called Free Agency and...get this one....trades.

Now don't go running off telling others about these secrets, I don't want to get hounded by messages asking me how I did it.

Isn't it strange how no one accused me of cheating when I mentioned that I had Maroth & Mr. Zero on my pitching staff?

In fact, I did cheat when I acquired those players....I cheated myself!

Yeah, and you cheated yourself pretty badly with that avatar, too.

No, it was intended as a tribute to our fine commish, the gaucho of gauche, the Budster - a man who proves that every day has the potential to be a bad hair day.

Bud is living proof that any American can dream of being the commissioner of baseball - living proof that a man doesn't need intelligence, good judgment, charisma, or even a knowledge of the game and its history to hold the highest position in baseball.

My feelings exactly!! I haven't kept exact statistics but it seems like almost a third of the time whenever the computer gets a few hits in a row there are two outs. That's just too often.
