hmm, so markus won't comment on if he's been contacted by any of the "big" sports software companies.... interesting...
here's hoping OOTP7 brings us that 2D graphical interface that Markus has wanted for so long.... |

I sure hope OOTP never gets bought out. That would be the end of the great game that OOTP is.

Everyone seems pretty afraid of OOTP going to a "Big" company. I don't think I'd worry about it getting bought out and disfigured by EA sports or something.
Now I have no industry experience, but it seems like this game has a very focused, devoted autidence, so why would anyone change the game to try and change the audience? OOTP is not MLB Baseball 2005, they're very different beasts, and it wouldnt be worth changing OOTP. I remember Sierra's BBPro, and I still think that's a wonderful game, the actual play-by-play and simulation engine is great, and the customization allowed with the 'pb.ini' file is unsurpassed. Not that Markus isn't doing the job, but if he does burn out someday, seeing OOTP go to a big game house is no worse than Markus losing interest, and I don't see OOTP dying on its own. It'd really take a far superior new product to drive it out of town, just look, BBpro leagues still exist just because its good at what it does. |

I have bought this game for 3 seasons. All it does is improve with age. Kinda like a fine wine. If the big bucks are out there for Markus and his staff then that's a decision that they are going to have to make. I for one wouldn't blame them one bit. Would I hate to see this game go big? You betcha! I haven't been this pleased or this immersed in a game in a long long time. I'm just sorry it took me 3 years to get involved in this board. I've read it constantly over the 3 years, but until now I've never felt compelled to join the board. If what little input I or anyone else can give to this great game helps it or the creators gain the notriety it deserves then damn the torpedoes and full steam ahead. Grab the gusto while you can. This is by far IMO THE best game that money can buy. Sorry if that's a little wind blown!

I think the concern over a sell out is genuine. When EA bought FOF it totally F'd up the game to the point of making it unplayable for the sake of putting eye candy into the game. Please Markus, do not sell us out.

I hope Markus doesn't, but can't blame him if he does. Just my opinion.
