Question Help In Stadium Picture Conversion

My ignorance of programs prompts this age old problem. I have downloaded the Anakit program and the Infanview program, but can't make it work. I've tried following the 'Help' menu but still no luck in converting to BMP. I've tried the batch method but I'm missing the boat somewhere. I hate to ask for step by step instuctions but I'm at the mercy of computer file knowledge. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. P.S. I have checked past threads and have not had any luck as you all can tell.

Irfanview? I think I tried that out a long time ago, but had to do some pictures one by one. Personally, I use HarmWare's 'BatchThumbs' program.

This actually was a little tricky -- I'm at work, and don't have Infranview in front of me.... but some items from memory:

1. To do the batch convert -- you should see all files names in the left pane (don't recall -- but there's a one click method to do a whole directory somehwere in Infranview.... perhaps someone with the program in front them can help?)

2. Make sure you use the $N variable in the name field to make sure you maintain the stadium names.

Click on File, then Batch Conversion/Rename.

On the right side, browse to where your jpg files are. Select the ones you want to convert and click on the Add button (third from the top, on the left column of buttons).

Under Output Directory, set it to where you want the converted files to be put.

Under Batch Conversion Settings' choose BMP.

Click the Start button (topmost button on the left column of buttons).

Ankit's procedure is correct. One thing he missed though is that if you want to select all the pictures in the 'from' file in step 2 you can click on 'Add All' (4th button down).

I've tried Anakits directions and added the 'all' procedure but ootp still cannot find my files. I have them in a folder called stadiums, inside my graphics folder. ootp\graphics\stadiums\anakit. they are 640*480bmp in the anakit folder. Still no luck. Don't understand the $N thing. Any more help would be appreciated. Thanks all.

You need to edit the ballpark - choose 'edit ballpark' from the league editors on the basic setup screen in league setup and then select the ballpark you want to edit. About halfway down the screen you will see a 'in-game field picture' button, this will most likely be set to field.bmp, you will need to change this to the path of the picture you want to use e.g. ootp/grahics/polo.bmp or whatever you called it. Repeat and rinse for each ballpark.

Sorry for the pre-edit mistakes.

Question

Well, I've tried it all and still no luck. I'm doing something wrong in the conversion and I just can't seem to get it right. My last OOTP game was OOTP4 and I managed to accomplish the feat then. Guess I'll just keep plugging along until I hit it right.

Gramps,

>> I have them in a folder called stadiums, inside my graphics folder. <<

Don't put your park images in a Stadium folder, inside the graphics folder. Put your park images directly in the graphic folder.

Gramps, I had a look at Ankit's stadiums (my previous advice was just general based on any stadium pics) and I noticed that Ankit includes some .dat files (in the OOTP 6 DAT folder in the uzipped file), these save the work of individually typing in the location of each picture and fix the coordinates of the fielders, runners and batters onn the field. These assume that your folder is called graphics/ankit. Perhaps this is your problem?

Gramps, place the Ankit folder(the stadiums) in the graphics folder. Or you can go into each team setup page and change the picture placing. i.e. ANKIT/BRAVES.BMP to BRAVES.BMP. , if you placed the stadiums in the graohic folder. This worked for me.

Thumbs down

I have the Anakit folder and stadiums in the graphics folder. They all show up in the folder as BMP,ie Angels.BMP. The only stadium that shows up in the team setup procedure is the Angel park and it is black and white. All the other parks give me a blank screen on conversion. I guess I'll have to settle for the in-game screen and go on and enjoy this great game. I want to thank all of you for your help and the patience that you all have shown in trying to help me solve this problem. I'll keep plugging along.
