Players sons in the draft?

Just got into a draft, and I saw Ruben Sierra Jr. Is this just a freak occurence, or is it programmed to have stuff like so? I'm a newcomer to the series mind you, so if this isn't a new feature, sorry.

This is a common occurrance. Matt Stairs Jr. is one of my journeyman middle relievers. You'll find plenty of them as you go on. I'm not certain if these players appear after retirement or when the player hits a certain age. I'd bank on after retirement.

I don't believe they all wait until the Sr. player retires.. nor does the game really follow actual math when figuring when these guys come in (much like when it creates kids in manager mode when you choose married with children). I believe I have seen on a few occasions Jr.'s coming in and their birthdate indicates their father was only 14 or 15...

Gibson swings, and a fly ball to deep right field! This is gonna be a home run! Unbelievable! A home run for Gibson! And the Dodgers have won the game, 5 to 4; I don't believe what I just saw! I don't believe what I just saw!

But, that's where it differs from the MLB.

I had Barry Bonds Jr. set the all-time saves mark in one of my leagues, with 645 saves. He was a closer every year in his 19 year career except his rookie year and the last two years of his career, while still managing to pick up 10 saves those final 2 years.
