Post Post Patch Trade Problem

I am getting the same crash as from before the patch. I have made a new league and yet the same problem. The problem is when I go to trade someone and I look into their stats/ratings. It doesn't seem to be consistent, but I would say that the game crashes about 75% of the time. I haven't tried the wavier wire yet, to see if the same problem continues there, but it did before the patch. I will try the wavier wire and see if the game crashes there too. When I try to go back to the program, my computer locks up. The message I am receiving is the standard "illegal operation" error. This is what it says:

OOTP6 caused an invalid page fault in
module COMCTL32.DLL at 0187:bfbcde4c.

I am running 2.4, Win 98 SE, 512 DDR, 16 gigs free. My guess is that is has something to do with Win 98SE, because before the patch, the only people who were posting about this crash were people with Win 98. I will check out the waiver wire to see if it crashes in there too.

Thanks.

Still having problems with it. Looks like the waiver wire is okay - the crash just seems to happen for trades.

Anyone else having this problem?

You are not alone, CoolDudeWill. The game completely crashes for me when I go to look at the player to be traded for's ratings in the trade screen. Any attempts at opening the program again (w/o rebooting) give the same error message.

No problems anywhere else.

OS=Windows ME

Please let me know if you need more information.

Thanks.

Same for me. Other trade crashes were fixed, but not this one. Win ME.

Get a new OS

No clue, we're trying to gather info to see where the problem is. No time frame for patch or what it will contain.

The game was working fine for me before I installed the patch but now if I try to trade it crashes.
What should a person do, uninstall and then start over or wait for a patch.
How long will it be before this is fixed? a week or possably a month?
Also if anyone can answer is it possable to uninstall just the patch?

Hi,

This bug has been discussed previously in the Troubleshooting forum, but has not yet been corrected. The solution is to use right-click, rather than left-click, to select the players to be involved in the deal.

This should get you squared away until this problem is corrected in the next patch. V 6.01 did not address this issue, which existed prior to the patch. From what I've read, it seems to affect only Win9X users, as I haven't seen any reports pertaining to either Win2000 or XP.

tc,
Mike

Just to confirm Mike, it is a WIN 9X problem. I;ve had it since day one, I had hoped maybe Markus would help the lesser of us with the patch but guessin since 9X users are the minority we are gonna have to wait.

I've got Windows ME, same problem

If you choose the player with the right mouse button, and then click on him you can call up his player card fine, though this is an extra step and an annoyance.
