Question Online Leagues and In-Game Waivers

this was posted in the Online Leagues forum, but it really should be posted here. The answer to this question is important.

Online leagues and in-game waivers

Has anyone running a league thought of what they might do for in-game waivers?

The way I see it, it would take 3 sims to do:
Sim 1) Place a player on waivers & export and a new file comes out with players on waivers.
Sim 2) Teams place their claims.
Sim 3) Teams decide if they want to pull their players off waivers, or let them go.

The problem is, in many leagues this could take 3 game weeks - even longer in some leagues!

Has anyone come up with a better way? Or will most people just leave the option off? (Or do it outside of the game?)

Never thought about that before. Can you increase the waiver time to 3 weeks?

Thats how weve been doing it with v.5, and thats what were ultimately trying to get away from. Since the game now handles waivers in-game, were hoping to save the commish some work.

You can. You can set it to any length of time you'd like.

If the waiver time is set to 3 weeks, then id really hate to have to place a guy on waivers. Usually if youre sending a guy down, you want him off your 25 man roster so you can get a able body in his place.

I really dont see a solution.

We run 2 weeks at a time.

Sim 1, youd put the player on waivers. 2 weeks go by.
Sim 2, teams could make claim. 2 weeks go by.
Sim 3, player should be off your team or demoted.

In the end, sticking to our sim schedule, itll take 4 weeks to demote or waiver a player.

If you claim a player, he has to be on your 25 man roster. What happens when another team gets a player? Does the AI place the player on the teams 25 man roster and demote another player (assuming the team is 25 players full?).

Im thinking the only resolution is to disable waivers or continue using the leagues forum to make waiver claims. :/ Either, id really hate to do.

enough rambling from me
