I have a questiopn/complaint

I am not new here (screen name yes) but....

One of the things I loved about OOTP 5 was the hiring of managers for the minors. scouting, pitching and hitting.
Found it to be just a fantastic add on to the game.

Yet it is not in this edition, and if it is well damn where the hell is it ?

My question is, are there any plans to bring that idea back or is it a wash ??

(This all could have been posted before, but everytime I search I get a error message.)

They are still in the game. Make sure they are enabled in your League Setup.

It added that realism to the game, something they seem to push very hard for with OOTP, hence why I am wondering what happen with it.

crap, I should have layed off the bong rips when I was a kid, I shall go back and search again for that setting.

It's under League Settings, look for Coaches/Scouts and make sure it is enabled.

It's still there, and for those who don't want it, they can be disabled. As for me, seven year contracts for the best of the bunch are my favorites because you can always "cut" a coach, scout or manager and not have to pay the rest of the contract. Whether that's a glitch or not is beyond me, but it's handy.

Well I always felt that the coaches unless you have tons of money hurt more than they help.. As in there is more penalty for taking a lower rated coach then there is a bonus for having a great one. I dunno, but its easier just to turn them off IMO.

I liked them at first in OOTP5, but it got very old to me. I turned them off and didn't miss it at all. Different strokes I guess.

I started a manager career and am no longer able to hire coaches, scouts and minor league managers. Is that because I'm the manager of the big league team?

I checked the setup. It is turned off and won't let me turn it back on.

Probably cause you are playing "manager mode".

You can't hire coaches and scouts because you have the option disabled.

I know it's disabled but the game won't let me enable the option

Once Manager Mode is applied, everything is "locked down". You'll have to use a 3rd party utility to unlock MM.

It won't let you turn it back on because you are in Manager Mode.

In Manager Mode nothing can be edited.

In the future, make sure your league is setup exactly the way you want it before you start a Manager Mode game.

This shouldn't work anymore in OOTP6.. you should still be on the hook for the contract.
