Traded player stuck on IR

I traded for a player that was on the IR, but on the previous teams major league roster. When I received him, he was not automatically added to my 40 man roster.

I could not place him on my major league roster because he was not on the 40 man roster.
I could not place him in the minors because you can't demote a player who is injured.
When I tried to place him on my 40 man roster, it gives me 'Invalid transaction'

At this point, I either had to place him on waivers (which I did not want to do), or trade him away.

I ran into the same exact problem as have many other people. They already know about this bug and are working on it. Hopefully it will be in the first patch. As a quick fix you can turn off the 40 man roster in the league setup and move him where you would like.
