How to get your guy off the DL???

One of my older vets got injured, so I put him on the 60 day DL, but when his time was up and he was ready to go back to playing, I couldn't put him on my squad because he wasn't on the 40 man roster, and he refused to go to the minors, so my only option was to release him......is this a bug or am I just not doing something right?

This problem will be solved in the next patch. In the meantime you can turn off the 40 man roster off, make your move and put it back on, if I'm not wrong.
