Career Stats Limitations BUG
I'm not sure if you'd consider this a bug....but I do.
I decided to run a Historical Replay with the Aging Rate set at -100 to see how it would affect the game and see the totals that developed. I've simmed through 1927 and have only one problem. Players seem to max out at 25 seasons. After they hit their 25th season, they continue to play, but their Career Totals don't continue to pile up. As an example, here is Sam Crawford, who is still playing in the majors at age 47. I'm using Ankit's Career Database, and I started in 1911. As a result the stats for 1901-10 are identical. Code:
#43 Sam "Wahoo sam" Crawford, Rightfield, 47 yrs, Detroit Tigers Tuesday, 3/2/1928 Contract & Roster Status Contract : Big League Contract Salary : $ 10,190,000 Signed Through : 1929 Years of MLB Service : 27 Year(s), 131 Days (4775 total Days) MLB Service Days this Year : 0 Day(s) Years on 40-Man Roster : 29 Year(s), 42 Days (5030 total Days) Years of Pro Service : 30 Year(s) Career Batting Stats Year G AB H 2B 3B HR RBI R BB K SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS Teams 1900 138 525 162 25 17 5 84 76 42 6 20 2 .309 .360 .450 .809 CIN 1901 138 525 162 25 17 5 84 76 42 6 20 2 .309 .360 .450 .809 CIN 1902 138 525 162 25 17 5 84 76 42 6 20 2 .309 .360 .450 .809 CIN 1903 138 525 162 25 17 5 84 76 42 6 20 2 .309 .360 .450 .809 DET 1904 138 525 162 25 17 5 84 76 42 6 20 2 .309 .360 .450 .809 DET 1905 138 525 162 25 17 5 84 76 42 6 20 2 .309 .360 .450 .809 DET 1906 138 525 162 25 17 5 84 76 42 6 20 2 .309 .360 .450 .809 DET 1907 138 525 162 25 17 5 84 76 42 6 20 2 .309 .360 .450 .809 DET 1908 138 525 162 25 17 5 84 76 42 6 20 2 .309 .360 .450 .809 DET 1909 138 525 162 25 17 5 84 76 42 6 20 2 .309 .360 .450 .809 DET 1910 138 525 162 25 17 5 84 76 42 6 20 2 .309 .360 .450 .809 DET 1911 138 549 181 33 14 2 103 85 44 18 47 16 .330 .379 .452 .831 DET,AL 1912 144 562 167 32 17 2 115 79 48 26 37 11 .297 .352 .425 .778 DET,AL 1913 145 568 195 33 12 16 135 112 56 15 44 15 .343 .402 .528 .930 DET,AL 1914 119 447 136 29 2 3 78 61 44 19 35 15 .304 .367 .398 .765 DET 1915 145 547 150 19 11 9 71 71 50 15 43 11 .274 .335 .399 .734 DET 1916 146 538 160 27 10 4 73 71 48 21 43 22 .297 .355 .407 .762 DET,AL 1917 142 538 155 31 5 3 67 67 56 12 38 14 .288 .355 .381 .736 DET,AL 1918 142 557 141 29 5 3 82 71 43 17 32 13 .253 .307 .339 .646 DET 1919 144 566 168 29 8 4 81 72 38 6 42 12 .297 .341 .398 .739 DET 1920 131 518 169 44 19 1 103 80 47 6 34 19 .326 .382 .490 .873 DET 1921 144 560 180 32 13 7 107 101 45 9 40 21 .321 .372 .463 .834 DET 1922 143 566 191 38 14 2 94 92 52 13 40 10 .337 .393 .465 .858 DET,AL 1923 149 569 171 23 18 5 89 79 38 9 3 6 .301 .344 .431 .775 DET,AL 1924 144 523 155 32 9 8 99 68 44 11 3 6 .296 .351 .438 .789 DET Total 3494 13383 4101 706 344 124 2221 1945 1115 263 701 213 .306 .360 .438 .798 Of course, you would almost never see a player reach 25 seasons in a normal league, but since the option is available to slow down (or speed up) the aging process, I would expect the game to support any potential results. Maybe it should allow for 40 seasons. By the way, does -100 Aging mean that there is no aging whatsoever? Could we get a more specific explanation of how it affects the "aging process"? |

I think this is a database limit in the game. If I remember right, when the career player stats were added in OOTP5, there was a built-in limit of 25 years of tracking due to database size requirements. Markus felt that in nearly all cases 25 years would exceed the actual career length a player would be likely to have.
It sounds like this same 25 year limit is still in place in OOTP6. |

So, am I to assume that it won't get changed to 30 years or so?And can someone answer my question about how the aging process is actually affected by quantifying it? Is the aging process changed in terms of percentage? |

Nolan Ryan, Tommy John and Deacon McGuire were cited for protesting out in front of OOTP Headquarters.
