Career Stats Limitations BUG

I'm not sure if you'd consider this a bug....but I do.

I decided to run a Historical Replay with the Aging Rate set at -100 to see how it would affect the game and see the totals that developed.

I've simmed through 1927 and have only one problem. Players seem to max out at 25 seasons. After they hit their 25th season, they continue to play, but their Career Totals don't continue to pile up.

As an example, here is Sam Crawford, who is still playing in the majors at age 47. I'm using Ankit's Career Database, and I started in 1911. As a result the stats for 1901-10 are identical.

Code:
#43 Sam "Wahoo sam" Crawford, Rightfield, 47 yrs, Detroit Tigers

As you can see by the lines I have marked in RED he has been in the majors for over 27 years, but his stats stop at 1924 (i.e. his 25th season). He had nearly 400 AB in 1927, so it's obvious they're not adding to his totals.

Of course, you would almost never see a player reach 25 seasons in a normal league, but since the option is available to slow down (or speed up) the aging process, I would expect the game to support any potential results. Maybe it should allow for 40 seasons.

By the way, does -100 Aging mean that there is no aging whatsoever? Could we get a more specific explanation of how it affects the "aging process"?

I think this is a database limit in the game. If I remember right, when the career player stats were added in OOTP5, there was a built-in limit of 25 years of tracking due to database size requirements. Markus felt that in nearly all cases 25 years would exceed the actual career length a player would be likely to have.

It sounds like this same 25 year limit is still in place in OOTP6.

That's understandable, but it does reduce the impact of changing the aging process. So, am I to assume that it won't get changed to 30 years or so?

And can someone answer my question about how the aging process is actually affected by quantifying it? Is the aging process changed in terms of percentage?

Nolan Ryan, Tommy John and Deacon McGuire were cited for protesting out in front of OOTP Headquarters.

I wouldn't say "pointless" but does minimize it's use and effectiveness.
