I sim by weeks, so that I can check if a player in the minors needs to be moved up / down. Also, I do set up the team strategy for both offense and defense, but not individual player tendencies unless they are particularly strong in one area or another. When the sim stops I'll check messages, and auto manage the minors.

I used to sim a week at a time so that all the trade offers I had received were still valid. I never bothered with the stop for emails option since you can't choose which email types stop the sim.

With the addition of the waivers system, however, I think things must change, as the waver period is 3 days. Bottom line is if you want to stay on top of waiver guys you have to sim day by day or put up with stopping the sim for every dang email you get.

A 'very nice to have' would be selective email filtering so you could stop for trade/waiver info and nothing else.

Also, distinguishing between major and minor injuries for sim stopping would be nice as well.

same as tig... except I will set pitch counts for young pitchers... usually 100 and sometimes also give them a quick hook...

I sim daily and check every boxscore. This way I can get a season in 1-2 days and also have a clue about my team. I set all my offensive and defensive tacticts myself. Once a month I play a game or two against interesting teams or rivals.

I set up my team rosters, depth, lineups, team strategies, individual player strategies at the beginning of the season.

I sim a week at a time, stopping only for trade e-mails (it differentiates between trade e-mails and the rest). Injuries are only addressed at the end of the week.

Between sims, I check my Minors Report, Player Development, League News, Injuries. I'll look in at the Transaction screen for anyone that is glaringly at the wrong level (batting .350+, for example or ERA under 2.00) and move them..I won't move anyone for the first month at least though, since those numbers can just be due to the limited play time.

A quick check of the waiver wire and then sim again. This is about the only step that's new with the change to OOTP6.

At some point (usually around the All-Star Break), I'll check in on the player contracts and make an effort to resign the guys I want to keep.

I'm thinking of setting my waiver period to 7 days. That way I can still sim a week at a time and stay on top of waiver requests.

It WILL mean a little more planning ahead for things like brining a guy of the DL if you need to have someone clear waivers to make a spot for him.

I usually sim once a month and check the stats etc,. each month. I don't really like to micromanage as much. I look forward to looking at year-end stats and then resigning players and making trades, getting free agents at the ends of the years.
