Talking Gray Background Logo Set Done

As mentioned here I just noticed how bad OOTP makes those untested logos look (and it turns out I tested fewer than I thought) with the pure black in them, so I've been going through them pixel by pixel and fixing them up.

I've made one or two other logos with the same backgrounds and now am thinking of making a set. All of these are Kelric originals (original as in 'I edited someone else's work into this background' original) and hopefully can get put to some use.

New ones that I've done so far are the Blue Demons, Cougars, Terriers, Stampede (a single horse), Chanticleers (attached) and my NFL Europe set. I expect at least 30 in this set (included alternates of some of the NFL Europe logos) and may have more.

This logo stuff is fun. Except for the MSPaint part.

I think this would be great. I play alot of fictional leagues and I would think the more logos available, the better.

If you have Paint Shop Pro you dont have to go through the logos pixel by pixel, use the replacer brush function to replace the pure black with an off black. Just set one button to pure black, the other to off black like 15,15,15, then set the replacer brush to the biggest size and you can do each logo with one click changing all pure black pixels to off black.

Which is why I have MSPaint.

I've got 26 done and tested but want to get at least 30 different teams before releasing them. Here's another new one for anyone interested however.

Sorry for the dissapearing act on this one. Got another one done today finally and expect to finish at least one more tonight. I think the finished set will be well worth the wait.

Excellent...

As if I needed more incentive to blow off my responsibilities to start a fictional league.

Done! 40 logos complete and being sent off to the OOTP Download Center. Here's another example from the set.

Ack, for some reason that Horned Frogs looks slightly weird. Not like any other horned frogs I see here on the TCU campus

I have quite a few great logos that look fine when they are on the lineup screen, but on the Game screen on the scoreboard and Team Setup Page, they get spotty, blotchy and look faded out as if there are gaps in the colors. They really look bad on the Team Lineup Comparison screen.

Is it possible to fix this?

If so, how long does it take to do it?

I don't know.

I just test my logos on the waiver wire/free agent screen and I don't recall any of mine messing up elsewhere when they work there. Not saying they don't, I just haven't seen it.

That's caused by the game, not the logos. The default size is 150X150, even though on some screens they are resized by the game. It would be nice to have like 3 different size logos, then we could resize each one so they would look good on every screen.

Ugh, that would take forever for me to resize a logo and then go in and fix it all when my crap program changes the colors in it as MSPaint is fond of doing.

So, if I understand what you are saying, it is a sizing problem that causes the logos to become splotchy on the game's smaller screens.

Would 3 sizes solve the problem?

I have been in previous threads told that it's a black transparency problem.

Since I have no skills or knowledge in creating logos, I have no idea what causes it. But it would be nice to solve because the logos look beautiful on the large screens and it's a shame they look poorly on the smaller screens.

Pixel size is a big problem, when you go to the screen where the logo is alot smaller the quality really goes down. Type that looks great on the FA or trade screens can become almost unreadable on the team pages and even worse on the lineup comparison.

Is there a simple solution to this problem?

P. S. Thanks for all of those beautiful logos you do for OOTPB. Yours always show up well even on the smaller screens.

I never bother testing mine on the smaller screens. I probably should, but I'm too lazy.

Since you are such a valuable member of the Graphics community, I guess we will forgive your laziness.

I'd say thanks for the compliment, but I'm still too lazy.

Speaking of lazy, where's Joe Rock with my logos on his website?

(Just kidding Joe )

Although I do suffer from the disease of laziness from time to time, lol, the main reason stuff isn't getting done is because of a lot of issues around the real world here, plus a new site design. Also, since I haven't been on the boards a lot lately. If anyone has a new download or whatever email me and I'll get it up when I can. Thanks for your patience!
