Is CatoBase only used for Web Sites??
I'm sorry if this has been asked already but I've never heard of CatoBase until today and the only description of it is at its homepage.
The description on its web sight is: "CatoBase creates a database full of stats! It can then use this database to create a full website that includes pages for each player, team, and league in the history of your league! Leaderboards, award winner charts, and much more, too!" So does CatoBase actually do anything for gameplay or is it basically a utility that allows you to post stats etc. to a web page? If I'm not interested in posting any charts, league history, or whatever to a web page would it be waste of time installing this utility? Thanks in advance |

I use it exclusively for solo play and for viewing the pages locally from my hard drive. It creates a baseball reference style HTML pages.
It will have html pages on everything from who has hit the most career doubles for the Cubs in your league...to who has the most defensive win shares at catcher. I don't know of any charts that it makes...it all player pages, team pages, manager pages, league pages, leader pages and many many more. Alas it won't work in OOTP 6 until the Commish Joe's exporter and Cato's utility get updated, it will only work in OOTP5...nothing yet for OOTP6. |
