Post suggestions...

ok, here are my thoughts worth what they are costing you........

i would like more flexability in the post-season playoff structure for my custom leagues. if i only want one league, one division of 8 teams, i should be able to structure the playoffs with the top 4 teams making the playoffs, for example. and i would like to be able to decide if they are 2 of 3, 3 of 5, or 4 of 7 series, too.

it seems like the key to having a strong team for a number of years largely depends on building up your home-grown players from the A leauges up to AAA to the majors. i would like the ability to focus on the minor leagues more. i think it might be interesting to be the minor-leauge manager of a team instead of the manager of the major league club. i dont know if this is even feasible, im just thinking out loud. i get the chance to work with the kids in spring training the way the game is now, applying the couching skills, etc. but at the minor league level, you work with them constantly. i would love to take the position of a AA coach/manager, and use my coaching skills to work more intensely with my prospects to help build their skills for the majors, while the major league clubs are just playing 'in the background.' (i guess this comes from my days of watching the AZ instructional league and talking with the scouts..it was much more fun watching the young kids than the major leaguers..)

i guess everyone has beat the free-agent issue to death in other categories of this board, but...i would like a more detailed free agent system, which involves negotiations with players/teams. as many have already stated, predictability should be the key thing to *avoid*. the algorithm used should include some randomness...a player may not always take the offer of most money, longest term (altho this may be the driving force). maybe he wants to play on the west coast, or only for a winning franchise, or in his home town where he played high school ball. i understand kirk gibson had 2 offers one from detroit and one from another club in '85 (i think) and his deadline was midnight... his deciding factor? a coin flip. put some randomness in the player's decision (if its not already there..)

i am wondering if there is anything in the game now that allows for team chemistry. everyone knows how important this is in a winning team... and how about the effect of a player who is a 'team leader'? does the game allow for an old veteran to be a strong influence even if he doesnt play? i have no idea how these things could be incorporated, but they seem pretty important to me, if you want a truely accurate simulation.

that about all i can think of for now.....thanks

I agree and have posted on the making playoffs more editable (in both rounds and games).

I don't think I'd use the minor league managing, not sure how feasable it would be, it might be challenging since really minor league managers have to deal with the major league front office and use only the players given them by the majors and have orders which players to play. What might be helpful is an option to select which players receive the bulk of the playing time at each level... however to balance the positive and negative.. there should be injuries in the minors.

Edit- Forgot to add response to last few... Its early here

I think most of your free agency stuff is in there and Markus has stated that the algorithms for free agency are being completely redone.

From the screenshots Markus already released Team Leadership is in there!
