Career Stats Question in Cato's History Website Creator

I have a question about career stats in Cato's History Website Creator v.5.3.3 that I'm hoping someone can help with.

A little about the league I am working with: we started in season 2000 using High Heat, and used that through season 2005. I then created a "dummy" Lahman database, using the accumulated stats from our league, to import into OOTP5. We have since played the 2006 and 2007 seasons.

I just ran Cato on the post-2007 season file. When I went to view the career stats, no one is listed for BA, ERA, etc., since it says that no one qualifies. So I viewed a player who has been in the league since the beginning. While it shows stats for all the seasons, it lists only the 2007 season as a "Sim Season," and therefore only those stats are counted towards career leaders.

Is there a way to force the program to recognize stats from all a player's seasons when calculating career leaders? And if so, can you enter in All-Stars and Awards from previous seasons?

Thanks!

Kevin

On another note, I noticed that the bat_career.csv and pit_career.csv files for the league (which started in 2000) don't include any player stats from the 2000 season, even though if you look at a player within OOTP there are 2000 season stats that show up. Any ideas about this one?

Thanks,
Kevin

What you're describing is the way it works. There isn't a way to include the "pre-sim" stats into the leaderboards. This is just how the program got developed. Originally, the career stats weren't even imported. The program was designed to work on the current stats in the game, the career stats don't have the detail needed for many of the calculations.

After many requests, I started importing the career data. But, I found importing the data was very unreliable-alot of data would not get imported. In fact, I only recently (version 5.3.2) made improvements to reading those files so that now (I think) most of the career data is getting imported. Since I couldn't reliably get the data and the data didn't contain the detail of the current stats, I just used it as an informational display on the player pages and not for anything else.

Even though the importing problem has been solved, the fact remains that some of the leaderboards still can't be done because the data is simply not there. I don't think I want to have some leaderboards use the pre-sim stats and some not.

As for why your career files are missing the 2000 season, I'm afraid I don't have any helpful advice on that one.
