Great and easy way to get fictional photos for your league

I am computer-challenged, so it has been quite a task for me to install the game (started with Season Ticket Baseball...OOTP3)...and to install logos, stadiums, databases and various editors.

I left player photos to last, thinking it would be very difficult.
I figured the least I would have to do is number each player.

Well, I decided today to search the forum and learn how to get photos and to install them.

One thread had a posting by Killebrew about fictional photos.

I downloaded his 2000 player photos...they are real pictures... and in 30 minutes total had them installed. HE HAD DONE ALL OF THE WORK.

All I had to do was extract the 4 files to my leagues photo folder.
Then go to the League Advanced Setup and enable the photos.

If you are a newbie or computer-challenged...or both...If you want some fine photos for your fictional league, I highly recommend Killebrew's.

You can find his as well as real MLB photos here:

Killer's are great.
I made my own for two reasons:
1) I wanted players who looked older than the 18 year olds that make up his.
2) I'm not afan of the college logos showing up on the caps and jerseys of my fictional players

My new file will have 1600 player photos using players of all ages and there will be NO logos. I removed all logos and insignias from each photo.

Some online leagues are using my original 800 player photo pack.
This new one will be out right about the same time as OOTP6

I've used Killebrew's fictional packs before and your's sounds even better LL. Looking forward to it!

Tim: No logos on a fictional facepacks is a good thing, I don't know why you would want incorrect logos....

I never said my photo packs were for everyone. Those who use them gave me good feedback. Some people like the logos, even if it is one that does not "exist" in their fictional league. I guess I am more anal retentive than most when it comes to that.

Examples:

Also, my photo packs make it easy for you to add your own team's logo since you are dealing with a "blank" hat.

Here are players with USBA logos added:

LivnLegend:

I really appreciate the time and effort you, Killebrew and many others expend making OOTBP better for all of us.

I like Killebrew's, but I will take a look at yours...I know you are not in competition...just two different ways of doing it.

I think that is a great idea...no logos and various ages, which meet my needs better. I'm anal retentive, too.

Are your photos as easy to download and install as Killebrew's...that is, are they already numbered for placement in the game...or will I have to individually install them?

All I had to do was download them, extract them to my league's photos and enable them.

If I want to change a photo to fit the name of the player's ethnic background, do I just simply change that player's game id number with one that fits the ethnic background?

Mine are in the same format as Killer's because I asked him what he did before I uploaded mine. Unfortunately mine are numbered 1-800 (the new set will be numbered 1-1600). Since Killer's are also numbered the same, they will copy over each other. Since mine was small, I suggested it could be used to supplement other peoples packs. For example, when your Real Player league moves forward many years and develops fictional players mixed in,, you could draw from my pack and number them as needed within the context of your league.

Yep. In my pack 90% or more are generic players. However, there are some players who are obviously catchers or pitchers or throw right or left-handed. In these cases, you can easily just change the player number on the individual picture file. One online league that used my pack mentioned how they thought it was funny when a player of Asian decent turns up with a name like Joe Smith or vice versa, a Japanese name is matched with a pale complexion, blonde haired player. It's an easy fix but it bothers some less than others.

Thanks for the compliment!

I don't remember doing so but it is possible. The project started as something for my own fictional league. Eventually I decided to provide the pack of pics for others in this fine community. Early in the process I may have played around with a picture or two, thinking it was going to be for my own amusement. I have not gone back to look at those early pictures in quite some time.

Grab a program called Irfanview. You can rename them all at once in a matter of seconds.

That's fantastic LL. I look forward to downloading these. Killebrew's are great as well, but it would be nice to use young photos for young guys, and older ones for older guys!

EDIT: Uhh...anyone know a quick way to switch jpegs to bmps?

My favorite place to go is http://www.mugshots.net as there I get photos that have a gritty and realistic feel.

Hey, if you've got hundreds of hours to blow, just create each individual face with Facegen
