CATO import error
I am importing my first season into CATO and ran into a few problems. The one I can't get past is
rte '-2147467259 (80004005)' key column information is insufficient or incorrect. Too many rows were affected by update. It happens during the "adjusting fields" period of the import. Anyone ran into this before? I don't even know where to start looking for the key information. Thanks for any help! |

I have never seen this error before, so let's make sure you are using the right programs & files first.
Did you initially install the 'full' Catobase program (with MDAC and other required files - about a 10 MB install file)? What version of OOTP are the files you are using coming from? What version of Catobase are you using? Are you using the correct CommishJoe CSV Exporter from Jeff Cato's site (www.jcato.net)? |

I installed the full 5.3.1 catobase program. I did not install 4 and then 5 on top. I know I got the MDAC files.
OOTP5 files from "2004" 2 years into the league. I don't have the first 2 years the exporter is the one from cato's site. Can I check the players.csv for duplicate entries? |

I'm having very nearly the same problem, when I try and edit some of the Options, like where to check for the .csv files and such I get this error:
RTE '-2147217887 (80040e21)': Multiple-step operation generated errors. Check each status value. I'm not even trying to import the files, I'm just trying to designate where to get them from. I just downloaded 5.3.1 from Equalnicity.com and installed it. I installed everything, except when I installed it, it said the MDAC file was older than what I currently have so I said not to overwrite.

Dola - and note that due to the fact noble is importing already that means your error is different from nobles, just happens to be the same message.

Okay, I reinstalled it and it seems to work fine. But now when I'm importing I get this message:
There is a problem importing line 2 in the file \league.csv. Now, I checked it, and I didn't see any weird symbols or anything. So here is a link to my league.csv file... http://allbaseball.staghost.com/league.csv

I had that problem, but using the exporter from cato's site fixed it. Have you tried that?

It's kind of easy to download the wrong version of Commish Joe's Exporter. Make sure you get 5, not 3.1.1. (which is the most intuitive to click).
I know this may sound ridiculous, but this was one of the mistakes I made. |

Edit: BTW, I figured this out by running the correct CSV Exporter on your league file, and it did not match the league.csv file you said was erroring out in Catobase. That means the latest BOSI CSV Exporter was used. Last edited by Killebrew; 03-22-2004 at 11:38 AM. |

Killebrew thanks for helping me. The problem I had was the MDAC files needed to be overwritten.
I now get the EOF/BOF error on the fielding splits but I can't resolve it. I have placed all free agents with stats on their old teams but still get the error. Any thoughts? |

Note for the equalnicity.com ticket file attachment: There is a 1 MB file upload limit for tickets, so in your case I think you'd have to split up your ticket attachment in 2 parts (I think your CSV's and OOTP html added up to more than 1MB). Good luck and feel free to PM me if you have trouble putting in the support ticket. |

I got everything working, but when I go to Create HTML Pages, I get the following message:
Error 94: Invalid use of Null has occured And then it stops.

Do you have 'Minor Leagues' off? If so, there are a number of workarounds - do a search on 'Cato Overflow'.

The minor league problem should be fixed in 5.3.1, so make sure you're using the latest version.
I've upped the upload limit to 2.5 MB, so enter a support ticket and attach your zipped data files and I'll take a look. |
