Any word on the manual?

I bought Season Ticket Baseball 2003 (yeah, yeah - I know) but wasn't able to get as much out of it as I hoped to because I was overwhelmed by all the features. I'm *very* interested in OOTP 6 but fear I'll be even more overwhelmed if the manual doesn't give a lot more information than I found in the downloadable manual for OOTP 5. Has any development effort been invested there? Or has Marcus made the not-unreasonable assumption that the core audience for this product is a lot more knowlegeable than I am and doesn't need the help?

If you have any questions you can always read the FAQ forum as well as ask any other questions here on the forums. Someone is almost always happy to answer.

Its a good point though - if OOTP want to attract a greater fanbase, surely it is vital that they develop a comprehensive, easy to use manual for the game.

Has there ever been a manual for OOTP? I just think it takes some getting used to, but it's pretty self-explanatory.

you can download the manual for V5, it will not have all of the features but it will be a start and I assume the V6 maual will be similar so you can get a feel if it provides enough info

I'm planning to help compile the manual for OOTP6. Hopefully, it will be more useful than in years past.

A manual definately helps. v5 had one, and even though it doesn't tell as much about the game as it should, it's a huge improvement over some of the earlier manuals

Sometimes it can be overwhelming with all the features, but just tinkering around with things in a test-league is a great way to figure out how some things work. And anytime I couldn't figure something out, I've always been able to find the answer here.

I agree the manuals have not been very thorough in OOTPB and they need to be greatly improved for the newcomers.

In reality, the only way to learn is by playing the game and asking questions here on the forum. The gamers here are very helpful in helping each other. It's a fine community.

Doesn't having the name "Anus" bother you? I know, if I had grown up with a name like that there would have been trouble. Are you the butt of many jokes?

A manual would be cool, but not the highest item on my priority list.

Manual speak

The manual for OOTP seems to be along the lines of manuals for many videogames -- it just gives the basic info, leaving you to discover all the little wonders of the game for yourself.

Or, more likely, leaving you to buy the hint book for $15.

If you need the hint book for OOTP, thankfully there is none -- that's what the (*free*) forums are for.

Yeah, i figured out OOTP5 pretty easily, and Season Ticket Baseball 2003, but with all the new features, it might seem helpful to get a comprehensive OOTP6 manual.
