OOTP6 brings realism badly needed...however...

...in terms of waivers, etc. But it still misses one vital ingrediant that without, I still find myself pushed away from the game...

...sense of time....

At the moment, for example, you can try out dozens of trades and find one that fits between games.

Wheras in real life, GMs will spend time trying to hammer our a trade over days or weeks. They will make an offer, the other team might reject out right, or mull over it for a few days.

They will then get back to you, maybe with a counter offer or accept.

This adds MUCH more importance to the deals you offer. If you continue to offer outrageous or lob-sides trades, your GM rating will decrease and other GMs will be less willing to negotiate with you.

Please OOTP ppl, do something about this. It really wouldn't be too hard to implement a time delay with a little AI...and would add some much more realism to the already great looking OOTP6.

P.S My only other wish would be more realistic deadlines for re-sigings, tendering contracts, arbitration. So the off-season becomes the off-season where you concentrate on dealing and wheeling...instead of a simple 30 day signing period

A game which I think had it to a T was the soccer management game Championship Manager.

You really have to think about your offers to both players and teams. Sometimes the AI will try to get a good deal for itself if it feels you will take the bait.

The AI also waited on other possible moves which taking a decision on your offer. This way is was much more realistic in its decisions. And if you made an offer for a top notch player, other teams hearing this news might then also make offers over the coming days.

It's much more important to the game to do well with your transactions, whereas with OOTP it kind of been ignored.

But then again, I'm still very happy OOTP6 has waivers etc.

I agree, CM03/04 made you wait after you made your offer. Also, I liked the part where the players mulled over their contract offers for a few days or even weeks.

CM03/04 is fabulous program.

I've heard rumblings about fan support when you aquire a certain player, or lose a player. I don't know if this has any pertainment to this topic, but think it does relate kinda well.

I would like to see something, but how? is my question.

It should be noted however, that CM is the best selling game in the world (and its future counterpart, Football Manager, probably will be as well) and has a a team of 10-11 people. I'd love to see this, but OOTP is now a Markus + Craig coding operation, and it will take a while to incorporate everything...

I agree, we can't ask for everything immediately.

Maybe Markus and Craig handcuff themselves by searching for a new release every spring training. I know it's tradition, the fans like it and it brings in much needed revenue - but think of what they could acheive in two years solid development.

No need to get distracted by patches etc etc, just concentrate on the game. I'm sure true fans of baseball sims would appreciate this.

But still, here's hoping OOTP7 can bring this much needed edge to the whole trade/contract process.

I really that idea. You put a trade offer in and in 3 days or a week they get back to you. But don't keep us from making another offer
