Would It Be Possible To Include Catobase within OOTP6?
How hard would it be to code Jeff Cato's remarkable Catobase into the game to allow custom reports?
The Catobase is probably the best damn add-on I have ever seen for OOTP, and the ability to have it in-game would be a tremendous addition.... |

I'd even pay an extra $6 or so to get this in the game....

Not that it will make a difference for OOTP6, but I'll chime in with incredibly enthusiastic support as well.

For those who don't know what the Catobase is, an example is here. It is, quite simply, a remarkable addition to the game and adds immense value to online leagues....
But, as an outside add-on, extra time and effort is required by the commish or a volunteer to set it up and process it. In-game, this would be simplified. Even for solo play, the addition would add immense value. Baseball is about history and statistics. The ability to go back through the years and check out stats adds hours of enjoyment to the game. The Catobase merged into the game would be worth the extra time it would take to code, and therefore worth the extra $$$ to us.

![]() Would be a huge boon for the stats freaks amongst us... which is pretty much every player who picks up the game. Looking at the GMc Catobase, one can get lost for hours pouring over minute stats and remembering past seasons. The Hall of Fame votes alone provide hours of debates, trying to decide who gets in and who gets left out. The Catobase, with its ability to track, in minute detail, every stat worth tracking, allows those debates and prolonged statistical enjoyment to occur. I have to add the Catobase to the NABL and the EBL, and, while it will take a fair chunk of time to do, eventually it will be worth it. Especially with the NABL, as there is 20 years of simming tradition to pour over. |

Abilty to have CATO read from the Almanac woudl be huge for leagues that begin using it after the first season...

Jeff hasn't been active on the boards for some time. Is anyone in an on-line league with him that could get him in touch with Markus?
