Online Leagues.. V6

With all the hype about OOTP6, I figured it was time to discuss the effect it will have on online leagues. Will your league upgrade from v5 to v6? I plan to upgrade to v6, but I doubt everyone in my league is going to want to spend the money to buy the new game.

What does your league plan to do.. have you discussed it at all?

With the way our seasons are playing out, I think 2010 will end around May or June. That'll give us plenty of time to ensure v6 is stable enough to use in a league. We NEVER switch in the middle of a season.

As for the issue of owners not wanting to upgrade, just ensure you give plenty of notice. This way, those that do not want to upgrade can be replaced, and those that do will have plenty of warning.

The leagues I'm in are voting on the idea now. More than likely they'll go to v6 once the current seasons are over.

Our league at its rate and when OOTP6 will be released will put us in the middle of season #2. So it'll give us a great amount of time to test it, figure out bugs, etc.....and we'll convert after season #2.

The need for owners to own the latest version and the league upgrading is part of the constitution.

Having said that, we are in the middle of season 4, and I plan simming season 5 also with v5. With the rating changes between v5 and v6 I want to take the time to see how v6 works out.

Well, we just started season two of the B9BL, the season might end around the time v6 gets released. I'd need some time to test everything before we upgrade, so maybe either after season two, or season three, we'll upgrade.

We're in the playoffs of season 1. We'll wait until the season ends AFTER the first patch is released, so that'll put us at the off-season prior to season 3. At that point, we'll expect that all owners will be on OOTP6.

My league, Shiba , will migrate if and only if the Cato database utility is compatible with v6

In the ULB league, we are just now starting to talk about a possible upgrade to v6 when is released. We wont however 1) upgrade in the middle of the season 2) we wont upgrade until it has been given ample time to have the bugs worked out 3) and we wont upgrade unless everyone in the league is planning on upgrading to it, or atleast almost everyone.

I plan on Buying it a month or so after its release.

My league wrapped up season 4 a little while ago and now we are in the offseason. I'll sim all of season 5 on OOTP5. That should give more than enough time for things to be ironed out with OOTP6 and for people to voice their opinions on upgrading the league.

We will downgrade to V4 in keeping with the historical nature of our league.
