DOBL Looking for new Owners!
After our inaugural 2003 season, the DOBL is looking to expand its ranks with some new owners. We started as a limited league, using only 16 charter teams in 2 leagues, with 2 divisions each. We need to replace some Owners who chose not to continue on, so the following teams are now available:
New York Yankees Oakland Athletics Seattle Mariners Atlanta Braves San Francisco Giants Los Angeles Dodgers I'd also love to add 2 expansion teams, but these teams must be filled first. Yes, this probably seems like a large turnaround, but the main reason is because the first season it was a group of all personal friends, and I allowed anyone to join, whether they had OOTP or not. When we started, only myself and 1 other owner had it. Now, every Owner besides the ones who left have it. So the ones who didn't want to get it, are out, and we're looking for new blood! The league is very exciting, with lots of offense (due to the same number of major league players, divided among half as many teams). 2004 promises to be lots of fun for every owner, as the teams are extremely balanced. Every single one of the available teams has all-star caliber players. We are in the middle of the 2003 World Series as we speak, so check out our website, http://dobl.howardenterprise.com and contact me if you are interested. Also feel free to ask me any questions, if you are unsure about this league. Believe me when I say you will have a blast. There will be at least another week of the offseason before we proceed to 2004, since there will be some rules revisions, etc. Andrew Howard Commish, DOBL/ Chicago Cubs Owner commish@dobl.howardenterprise.com AIM: aphoward13 Last edited by aphoward; 03-05-2004 at 10:01 PM. |

With our first World Series in the bag (and me getting routed 4-1, heh), we will be starting our 2004 season in about 1 week, so if you are interested in becoming an owner of one of these teams, let me know ASAP!

Andrew, it's a nice website that you put together. Weird to see Pedro as a Yankee
You may want to edit your post to get rid of the comma at the end of your web link; the first time I clicked on it I just assumed it was an invalid link.

Thanks for that, I didn't even notice. It has been corrected.
As much as I'd like to take credit for the website, my friend Jessica created it for me, all I do is throw in the updates ![]() Also, Atlanta has now been filled, other teams are still open. Nate, would you be interested in any of the current teams should an expansion not be possible this season? |

Ok, the following teams are available, altho I am still awaiting replies from 2 people, so expansion teams may become an option if anyone else shows any interest before teh Wednesday cutoff.

The league is now filled, thanks to all the new owners, and good luck to everyone this year! Should be a fun season.
For anyone who might be interested in an expansion team, I will revisit the topic when we are getting prepared for 2005!

The 2004 DOBL FA period will be starting on Tues, and we are looking to pick up the pace considerably, so if you're interested in the Brewers, let me know ASAP (and no, they aren't as pathetic as Bud's team....).

The Dodgers are also now open, I'd really like to get some quality Owners, it gets quite frustrating when you can't rely on people....

Well it looks like we're going to be looking for some new owners. We just had our first sim of the 2004 season tonight. I must say, while I love running my own league, it's getting frustrating not to be able to find quality owners.
Anyone interested in the White Sox, Cardinals, or Athletics, let me know. Some other teams may even be available. We will be using OOTP6 shortly after it's release, so please be aware of this. Andrew Howard DOBL Commish http://dobl.howardenterprise.com
