FA stud not signed

Right now I have a ss who is rated a 14 in hr's and a 7 in avg. He's won the mvp twice and is 29 years old.
I'm running a 26 team league and have my team cash max at 10mil.
Why didn't he get signed? What do I need to do to prevent this?
I've tried doing a search but it just hanged.

Up the cash max, it will still possibly happen from time to time.

This happened to me too, but was signed within a week of opening day, I just forced myself to believe that he was holding out for more money.

Thats a good way of thinking Hammer. Funny thing is he signed for 5mil for a year and I offered him 17mil when he was with me and he turned it down.
That will teach him for being greedy.

Clearly this is collusion. He must have hacked off all the owners.

The only time this happens in one of my leagues is when I have a salary cap. The teams that have the cash usually don't have the payroll room and those that have the payroll room don't have the cash.

Not sure if that's what happened here.

That has never happened to me and i have a 75 Mil cap. All I ever see in FA is garbage. Garbage when FA is over. Garbage 2 weeks after FA. And garbage in the FA pool all year long. 40+ seasons and counting.

I've seen garbage in after FA except for one time when Vida Blue wasn't signed (a 3.5 star and one other I can't remember) and was able to get both for very cheap. Neither were offered a contract in FA. I kinda felt like I was cheating. But then again it's the only time I've seen good players available and I've played 10 years so far.
