Should I allow this trade to go through?
In one of my leagues, someone just made this trade:
Texas Sends: Alex Rodriquez and 67 Million Dollars (spread out of 7 years) to the Yankees for: Alfonso Soriano and A player to be named later. I don't know. I think the Rangers GM is getting worked. Should I allow the trade to go through. It is obvious it isn't a fair trade.

gotta love Seligs explination, "i will not allow cash to be transfered like this in the future an become a norm..."
well you dip****, make an example out of theme. Don't make a "rule" after you let a team break a future "rule"...

The PTBNL will not be Contreras. Reportedly, it was a list of 5 minor leaguers Texas could pick from.
What is the cap in this league?

about 60-80 Million for most teams.. However, there are a few teams that are allowed over the cap because God looks down on them (well, at least one of them). For that team, the cap is set at $100M higher than their current payroll at any time.

I would never allow 67m to be spread out over 7 seasons, thats insane....
$20m up front, Alfonso Soriano, 1 1st round draft pick, 2 2nd round draft picks and a 4+ star prospect for Arod would be a good deal |

A similiar deal in EBL:
Orlando sends Jack "All Go" Cofield Vancouver sends 2011 1st round, 2012 1st round, 2013 1st and 2nd round and pitchers Pennington, Harill, Robledo, Miller Cofield is all world, but the price paid was steep.... |

Woah that Cofield deal seems pretty lobsided in Vancouver's favour if you asked me...
All that for a prone, undeveloped shortstop? |

I agree with the guy above me, that seems like a pretty lopsided deal in Vancouver's favor.

wait...in vancouver's favour? no way!
vancouver got a good OBA prone hitter with no power and gave away a couple good pitchers and 3 1st round picks! i'd say nothing about this deal is in vancouver's favour...

![]() I think Cofield, given his abilty to play everything under the sun, the leadership intangibles, and the B/B/B/B speed/steal/bunt/sac, GGGFGG ratings will be a MVP type player..... that prone injury is a pain in the ass though..... the pitchers traded would have never pitched in Vancover.... Its one of the largest "1 player for a ton" trades I have seen..... Last edited by Dean Gordon; 02-17-2004 at 11:35 AM. |

Actually, I remember in GMC that a 23-year old Barry Bonds went from Wilmington to Unionville for 6 players (Al Leiter, Les Lancaster, Glenn Braggs, Norm Charlton, Randy Gerrity and Angel Broaddus) and 6 2nd round draft picks (which brought in Wilson Alvarez, Mark Guthrie, Kevin Tapani, Jose Cano, Todd Zeile and Steve Finley) during the 1988 season... he never lived up to his potential in the Canadians lineup, forced to bat 6th or 7th at times and spending huge chunks of the 1992 and 1993 seasons on the DL.... was finally traded to New Cincinnati in 1995 for an aging Eddie Murrary and a young stud named Gary Sheffield .....
I think the initial Bonds deal is the biggest I have ever seen... initial responses were that Wilmington was being robbed....
