I cannot get the program to run. HELP!

I have an IBM Aptiva with Windows '98 and all the appropriate software disk space, to the best of my knowledge.
When I try to start OOTPB 3, I get a message titled "Create Surface:Back Buffer" The text in this message box says "An Invalid Parameter was passed to the returning function, or the object was not in a state that permitted the function to be called. This value is equal to the E_ INVALIDARG standard COM return value."

What is wrong? Why won't the program run?

You need to have "atleast" Direct X 7a installed on your system AND have your video card drivers updated to the newest versions.
